Kids these days, they don't appreciate a good battle! Back in my day we were glad to participate in a battle!
You know why? Because it gave us freaking experience and money! Experience that made us and our Pokemon stronger, and pokedollars to buy the precious potions and pokeballs we needed!
Nowadays kids get handed experience and money with their newfangled Exp. Shares and Battle Facilities!

It's a degradation of our Poke-morals, I tell ya!
