To be honest this is a BIG problem in the industry. It takes a LOT of work to make a game, especially a good one. It's easy to say 'Just patch this, that and this' and not be involved in the behind the scenes work. Reviewing the game's design is a complete astronomical magnitude away from doing the work to fix/make it.
