The nickname MrLean, a reference to the drug "lean," was coined in May 2025 when the meme was popularized. MrBeast eventually recreated the meme amid its virality. Overall, the trend is similar to the MrBeast Kid Deepfakes, which were prevalent in 2023.

On May 2nd, 2025, TikToker^[1] @user2847438378482838 posted an edit of MrBeast, seen doing a money spread in a kitchen. The image received over 190 likes in 17 days (shown below).

TikToker^[2] @user2847438378482838 posted another photo on May 2nd, which again showed MrBeast's face edited onto a different guy, seen in a car, posing for the camera. The post went more viral than the first, amassing over 288,400 likes over the same timeframe (shown below).

In the following days, TikToker @user2847438378482838 added to the trend with several edits of MrBeast. For instance, on May 3rd, 2025, the TikToker^[3] posted a photo of MrBeast posing in a Nike Air sweatsuit and a durag, gaining over 528,100 likes in 16 days (shown below).

Also on May 3rd, TikToker^[4] @user2847438378482838 shared another edit of MrBeast in the car, gaining over 2,900 likes in 16 days (shown below).

The abovementioned image went more viral when X^[5] user @seffffffff2 reposted it on May 4th, 2025, gaining over 14,000 likes in 15 days.

On May 6th, X^[6] user @kirawontmiss reposted the image, writing, "LMFAOOOOO who made this," gaining over 36,000 likes in 13 days (shown below).

On May 5th, 2025, TikToker^[7] @teenaqefever shared a fancam edit of Hood MrBeast, calling him "MrLean" in the description. Over two weeks, the video received roughly 2.2 million likes (shown below).

On May 18th, 2025, MrBeast posted a slideshow to Instagram^[8] showing himself as MrLean. He's seen with a goatee, low taper fade and flexing cash on a private jet. The post received over 4.2 million likes in 12 hours (photos shown below).
