Range bans never, ever happen on 4chan. moot used to be too worried about innocent users being caught in the crossfire. The only other case I can remember where someone was range-banned was a Russian who was spamming CP non-stop on /tv/. My crime? Making about ten copy-pasted threads on /v/, insulting the moderators for their atrocious handling of #GamerGate I remember when I first posted on 4chan. Even though the layout is terrible, the freedom was a breath of fresh air from other sites. It was great being able to post whatever was on your mind without having to worry about stepping on eggshells, without having to worry whether or not your opinion would be discarded because you are new, or because some irrelevant post you made a long time ago would be dug up and used against you to make you look silly And although it gets a bad rap, 4chan has worked together to accomplish a lot of great things. Showing up for an old man's birthday party, sending cards and love to people in the video game industry, protesting scientology. And with GamerGate, 4chan led the charge to expose corruption when all the other sites were working their asses off trying to censor everything Now look at what has happened recently: * The feedback page has been removed GamerGate threads are being deleted without any reason given.
