Lupin the III is an insanely popular manga and anime series from Japan about the master thief Lupin the 3rd, the descendant of Arsene Lupin, and his gang, as they go around the world, trying to steal treasures. It wouldn't be far off to say that it is something of a Japanese equivalent of James Bond. It came out in the 60's, but to this day there are new movies and manga series being produced and it's popularity had has not waned one bit. Lupin the Third at this point is, simply put, a Japanese cultural icon.
