So alpha wolves don't exist. Ok, but that's ultimately irrelevant to the social idea of the alpha male in our society. I'm not some pathetic guy from /r9k/ reeeing about Chad Thundercock, just acknowledging that the idea of the alpha is ingrained in us. Adam is kinda strawmanning with that obnoxious persona, anyway. You can be an outgoing confident person without being a douchebag.
It's still true, though. Guys who act aggressive and self-centered are a huge turn-off for a lot of women. I mean, I guess there are women like it, but… Not only does it piss me off when a guy is disrespectful toward me and/or others, it gives me the impression that he's immature and frankly, not very bright. It's pretty transparent when someone is trying too hard to look confident, too. I mean, I'll forgive that to a certain extent, because I know how it feels to want someone to like you. At the same time, it doesn't have the desired effect.
People who are really confident don't feel the need to prove it, and furthermore, good leaders are those who look out for others.
