Two Maxims is a song about a machine gunner, who's last name is Maxim and his machine gun, a Maxim Gun, and the bond they form as they heroically gun down fascists before heroically getting blown up by a grenade and the heroically recovering from their wounds to fight as one once more, heroically.

As you may have guessed, there is a theme here, although personally it is far to subtle for a person like me to understand. :(
