I'd describe the sensation as tingling that hurts a bit as I allow a vicious pack of lysmata wurdemanni to feast upon my flesh. Notice that they like to focus on the nail beds where there is more dead skin. Also called "Peppermint shrimp", lysmata wurdemanni are in the family of "cleaning" shrimp, although they are primarily scavengers.
