After watching your episode on Advice Dog I began to wonder what other memes had been used in popular culture. I was flicking through 2000AD (A British comic) and saw a Philosoraptor reference.

"Fail" is actually a very popular where I live. "Drinking out of cups" is a popular viral video where I live, and I showed some of my friends "extreme advertising" and now it's quickly spreading like a deadly virus.

Well, as we probably all know, Family Guy does most of the internet meme referencing out there (see: Family Guy Effect). South Park has made references as well in their Canada on Strike episode.

Outside of TV media, however, I can't really think of any movies/comics/books/whatever that has referenced internet memes. Though, I don't doubt that some time in the future, they will.

Also, screamo bands revel in cute/obscure references to internet and japanese culture, so they pretty much drown themselves in imagery that they don't quite understand.
