Hey, I've been seeing this around /b/ for the past while, and I've been wondering what people think of this, being how much and often it's used, or even its origin.
People use it a lot from what I've seen for its intended purpose, as showing what they themselves were like, but it also spans many different fictional characters, too.
Here's a few I've found, along with the template.

But this seems like a really widespread thing, it covers different races, sexes, classes, interests, and even ages.

Yeah, it seems quite similar. At the very least, it has the same guy in the template, which leads me to believe that those may be sort of related, with one showing one's internet persona, while this is showing one as they progress through life.
And buterrin, that's from Forrest Gump.

Yeah, this is somewhat of a combination between the Avatar Self and DO THE TIME WARP! Art Meme memes.

I believe at its current state, it's notable enough. If more research goes into this new unoriginal phenomenon, a good article can surely be easily made.
