Think Twitter is strong enough to spawn serious, long-lasting and viral memes?

Yeah, we've already got Pants Status in the database.

Yes, of course, but that's just one. And it's nothing compared to lolcats and will never be that popular either. In a month I've seen maybe 2 or 3 pants status. I'm wondering if something really strong and viral could come out of Twitter. Or it'll remain only a way to show things that started elsewhere.
