Use the Search the database feature, ya dingus!
!.) Type the name of the thread in the search.
2.) Switch to the "Forums" tab
3.) Find the user's post
4.) ????
5.) Let the lulz commence

Doesn't work if their account is deactivated as you won't be able to access their user page.

Can you do this with all their comments and uploads and whatever as well? It'll be useful if we could do this before they're deactivated if they turn out to be undesirables.

I feel like there needs to be a "LIGHT THE JAMES-SIGNAL" button in the site-related forum to summon him to such things. It would be shaped like Nic Cage.

I think I might have detected this by accident ages ago, but never noticed its potential.

I already knew this, so I just chuckled and moved on, but then I remembered something that might be significant: Years ago, on another site's forums, I noticed a similar phenomenon. The thing that was particularly odd about it was that when you searched for a post, the search function always searched the original post content, not edited posts. I'm not sure if that's the case here, but I can image that being a problem.

EDIT: Never mind; I just figured out that it doesn't do that.

It works much better than expected – the stars thread even has the images intact when searching!
