About

Xbox 360 achievements are a feature on Xbox LIVE, an online multiplayer gaming delivery service created and operated by Microsoft Corporation. They are comprised of game-specific challenges which award the player with points so as to increase their Gamerscore (G), which basically just ranks how good of a gamer the player is.

Due to the difficulty of unlocking several achievements and the absurdity of what several achievements are called, it wouldn't have been long until people started parodying these achievements OTI and on the Xbox 360 just for fun. It is often difficult to differentiate real Xbox 360 achievements to fake ones, but some fakes are blatant enough to tell apart from the real achievements.

Origin

Technology-Ninja (AKA schrankmonster), an Xbox-related media blogging site, uploaded an Xbox 360 achievement generator on their site on January of 2007. Sites like Technabob and DigitalBattle started noticing this, spreading the knowledge of the existence of this generator on the internet.

Fake achievements appearing on the Xbox 360 can simply be explained by hacking.

Spread

The meme has appeared on several sites such as eBaum's World, deviantART, and Photobucket.
