On February 8th 2013, the YouTube user: lukeschannelbuscus uploaded a video "10 subscribers madness", a video of himself, a 10 year old British boy showing his happiness and amazement of reaching 10 YouTube subscribers. The rarity of someone being so excited over a small achievement was noticed by the 4chan board /b/ who posted links to his channel and got his channel to over 645 subscribers overnight.

Luke's videos often feature his talking about his friend, William (YouTube user: williamtube34 ) Though /b/ have crowned Luke their king, with popular messages like "Luke is Love, Luke is Life" (previously "Luke is Love, Love is Luke") they have attacked William's videos with hate due to William mentioning that he is more popular than Luke in real life.
William uploaded a video titled "Fun – we are young parody (we are old)!" which Luke remade and uploaded to his own channel, using the exact same application (Talking Tom) and the exact same lyrics, Luke's video received more views than Williams, causing drama between the two boys and /b/ to back up Luke, even stating that William copied the idea off of Luke.
William continues to receive hate such as "YOU WISH YOU WERE LUKE'S FRIEND! LUKE IS OUR LORD AND KING! LONG LIVE LUKE!" and "LUKE IS A F*CKING GOD, WHERE ARE YOUR FANS AT WILLIAM? NOBODY IS STICKING UP FOR YOU, LUKE IS MUCH MORE F*CKING POPULAR THAN YOU, LUKE IS A SAVIOUR"
