How in the world did the writers of Steven Universe make us all so invested in the relationship of two characters- one being a minor antagonistic character, and the other we only recently saw for a few seconds? Cue Peridot saying "It's called 'Subtext'."

They didn't, this is just the way the internet reacts, wether they want it or not.
