For a minute I thought the entire site was getting terminated or something. To those who leave when the old site shuts down, thanks for all the fun times.

The fact I even got a down vote is all the more proof of why I became a lurker. Thanks guys!

Found it after rewording my searches. I was remembering Peter Thiel's Seasteading Institute. They were planning to build off Florida's cost. Also I was thinking of Operation Reddog.

It's amazing how people read 'developing country' and think it's like eight people with sticks.
They have guns, dumbass. Try it and die so we can laugh.

Speedrunning the African warlord life where you get couped by the people who helped you do a coup to kill the guy you orginally couped.

I swear I've heard this joke before. Like around 2010s. Maybe someone can find an article, but I remember a news story of a rich libertarian dude wanting to take over Haiti to turn it into a libertarian utopia with Bitcoin and such and Elon was all for it. I could be misremembering tho.

Complete, deep, and uncritical support for this idea. The world could do with less "influencers," so one doing something that would result in them being arrested for serious crimes or never seen alive again is good to me. For real though, if you want an actual idea of how this would actually go down, Google the "1981 Seychelles coup attempt." This incident also featured a platoon of mercenaries trying to overtake a small island nation. The results are predictable.

While it's true that Haiti is infamously underdeveloped, it's extremely archaic to think that this situation can be fixed by invading and taking over the country by force. Sure, it's got airports, infrastructure and tourism, but it's heavily populated, suffering from heavy unemployment rates, and has very little in terms of actual industry to keep it afloat.
Go ahead. Fix it though. The west has had a fantastic track record with forcibly taking over countries to improve things, right?

He can pull it off, if he is help by his Talibros. After all the Taliban won a war against the USA recently and have some new toys that the USA left after their defeat in Afghanistan.

I'll imagine I'm one of the non-pfp peeps next to Soup King since he's the only one I follow on here.
Found KYM through the Cheezburger sub-site way back, lurked for a while and then made this account 7 years ago.
