These images are proof that no one should expect anything good from something they're ordering online. We all do it, but really, we just shouldn't be surprised by the disappointment anymore. When you buy something online (or when you try out an unfamiliar recipe, you pick out questionable clothing or you base your decisions off the photos in a menu), things rarely go well. But once in a while, things can go so much worse than expected, which is somehow hilarious rather than disappointing.

Examples of these such incidents have been compiled in the subreddit /r/ExpectationVsReality, where people post their wildest expectations gone wrong. These images are proof that not everything is quite as it seems, and sometimes, that's okay. Because we're not the ones who actually paid for this, and we get to laugh at the results other people are now dealing with. Here are some of the funniest.
