15 People Who Were Caught Lying Online

We were all taught from a young age that lying is wrong. So is stretching the truth. Of course, most of us disregard this at times. For some, it's only special case scenarios where we dare tell a lie. Others will gladly lie through their teeth all day for some online attention, and it seems to work somehow. And yet, not everyone will just put up with it. While it's not surprising that many will often lie on their social media accounts for either attention or just plain boredom, lying about facts to other users is a whole different type of problematic.

As you scroll through any platform, you're bound to come across dozens of these liars every single day. However, if you're lucky enough, you might just find one soldier brave enough to prove just how much the original poster is lying with either facts or receipts. When these moments occur, they are captured in the delightful subreddit /r/QuitYourBullsh*t, where users submit screenshots of wild restaurant reviews and insane medical advice. Below are 15 of our favorites.

Shenanigans

My kid could nearly throw a baseball 102 mph at 16 years old. Other parents think it's dangerous and have signed a petition to ban him from league play. Legally, can they do this? Jay Douglas · Updated Sat Studied USC School of Cinematic Arts at University of Southern California I call shenanigans on this question. If your kid could throw even in the mid 90's with a smidge of accuracy you would be too busy fielding scouting calls and college visits that you wouldn't have time to ask a question on Quora. 68.3K views · View Upvoters You upvoted this 349 000 5 comments from Karan Singh and more

Well, This Took A Turn

19h I married my wife out of convenience. I had a friend from high school and I never thought about her romantically but she needed a place to stay during college and I was starting marine boot camp soon. So one night after me, her, and some other friends were hanging out I suggested to her that we get married so she would have a place to stay and I wouldn't have to stay in the barracks. Surprisingly we agreed and we got married and I started boot camp. We gradually became more of a real married couple without realizing it and now we've been married seven years and have 2 kids and I couldn't be happier. | Reply 1 -3 16h That's odd considering you just said that your girlfriend just died in a car accident 个3↓ 15h Oh snap

Well, They Did The Research

•Now He didn't illegally carry a weapon. The AR-15 and his age are legal in the state of Wisconsin. Do some more research before spouting off wrong information. -1 Now Wisconsin state law 948.60(2)(a) states: "Any person under 18 years of age who possesses or goes armed with a dangerous weapon is guilty of a Class A misdemeanor." However the exception is: "when the dangerous weapon is being used in target practice under the supervision of an adult or in a course of instruction in the traditional and proper use of the dangerous weapon under the supervision of an adult." Do some more research before spouting off wrong information.
