Tattooing is something that's very hit or miss. People who love tattoos are devoted to the art form, and many of us have dozens of them that we really don't regret. But some of us have some that we really wish they could take back, because they didn't quite turn out as planned. Or because they turned out just as planned, and the plan itself was just horrible. Some people just really shouldn't be allowed to come up with these ideas, and some other people shouldn't be allowed to tattoo them permanently on someone.

Getting tattoos is one of the most personal forms of self-expression out there, so naturally, people often make questionable decisions about them — or at least form some very strong opinions. From tired stereotypes to wild ideas to being asked "But what does it mean?" all tattooed people have been subject to a whole lot of jokes. And after seeing the following images of real tattoos, you'll know why.
