It's a truth universally acknowledged that the internet loves cats and hates Cats, the upcoming film adaptation of one of the most inexplicably popular musicals in Broadway history. Cats the Musical is not actually about anything. It's essentially a musical revue of cats singing songs about themselves until they decide which one of them gets to die. It's something of a miracle the show became the international phenomenon considering its light plot, wacky costumes, and Andrew Lloyd Webber score. It's even more bewildering that people believed that they could turn that premise into a film. Nevertheless, Tom Hooper's star-studded Cats is coming, and the world was introduced to its nightmarish hellscape on July 18th when the first trailer dropped.
