About
Mysaria's Accent, also known as Mysaria Accent Memes, Mysaria "Your Grace" or Mysariaposting, refers to a series of memes mocking the accent of the character Mysaria (played by actress Sonoya Mizuno) in the fantasy HBO series House of the Dragon (HOTD). Memes poking fun at Mysaria's depiction and accent in the HOTD TV show began appearing shortly after the series first aired in late August 2022.
Jokes and posts and her voice primarily mock her portrayal in HOTD by writing out dialogue that sounds like her accent, adding it to image macros, reaction images and other exploitable edits depicting Mysaria, particularly a screenshot of her sitting at a table speaking to Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen using a phrasal template ending with, "your grace."
The memes became especially prevalent in communities like the /r/freefolk subreddit in late July and early August 2026. Many of the jokes depict Mysaria referencing other well-known memes and catchphrases, such as The Bluetooth Device Is Connected Successfully meme, as well as characters like Jar Jar Binks.
Origin
Mysaria, also known as "The White Worm," appeared in the first episode of House of the Dragon, which was released on August 21st, 2022. In the HBO series, Mysaria is portrayed by Japanese-born English actress Sonoya Mizuno and has a unique accent that's supposed to be from the fictional region of Lys, one of the Free Cities located across the Narrow Sea in Essos.[4]
The earliest known meme reacting to hearing Mysaria's accent in HOTD was posted on August 29th, 2022, by Redditor ProgressForwards to the /r/freefolk[1] subreddit, which used the Mourinho Disgust meme under the title "Hearing Mysaria's accent." The post received over 2,300 upvotes and 280 comments in four years.
That same day, Redditor Professional-Hat-687 posted a Running Away Balloon meme to the /r/freefolk[2] subreddit about Mysaria's accent ruining their enjoyment of the show, garnering roughly 230 upvotes and 20 comments in four years.
Spread
Discourse and memes poking fun at Mysaria's accent continued to spread over the following months and years as House of the Dragon continued to release new episodes and seasons featuring her character. The accent also garnered media coverage in late 2022.[4]
For example, on December 16th, 2022, a since-deleted Redditor posted a screenshot to /r/freefolk[3] of a poorly written Facebook post of someone discussing a pregnancy test, joking that it looked similar to the way Mysaria speaks on the show.
On December 10th, 2022, YouTuber Hill's Alive uploaded a video, titled "Mysaria, Martells, And The Racially-Coded Accents Of House Of The Dragon & Game Of Thrones," discussing Mysaria's accent and claiming that it was racist while noting the negative attention it had received during the first season of HOTD, garnering over 38,000 views, 1,400 likes and 480 comments in four years.
On February 18th, 2025, X / Twitter[5] user fuckalicent tweeted about the character's accent and how it changed between seasons following backlash from viewers and tweaks from the showrunners, receiving nearly 55,000 views, 3,100 likes and 25 replies in a year.
In late July and early August 2026, numerous posts mocking Mysaria's accent in the third season of HOTD began flooding the /r/freefolk subreddit, captioning an image of the character sitting at a table from a scene in which she's talking with Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen.
For instance, on July 25th, 2026, Redditor davidkalinex posted a version of the meme to /r/freefolk[6] under the title "Switchin to yor side arm is alwueys faster than reloedin, Your Grace," which referenced the Switching To Your Pistol Is Always Faster Than Reloading meme, garnering over 440 upvotes and 20 comments in two weeks.
On July 24th, Redditor ToniaaS posted a The Bluetooth Device Is Connected Successfully meme using another image of Mysaria to the /r/freefolk[7] subreddit, receiving over 1,100 upvotes and 20 comments in two weeks.
Also on July 24th, 2026, Redditor KKYBoneAEA posted a variant of the meme to the /r/freefolk[8] subreddit under the title "Dey ar eeting tha dawgs, Dey ar eeting ze katz yur grays," referencing the They're Eating the Dogs meme, garnering almost 670 upvotes and 20 comments in two weeks.
As the Mysaria memes became oversaturated on the /r/freefolk[9] subreddit, some users began telling people to stop posting them, such as Redditor Winter-Character6993 on July 25th, 2026, who shared a meme of Robert Baratheon saying, "STOP THESE MYSARIA POSTS IN THE NAME OF YOUR KING," receiving over 2,500 upvotes and 120 comments in 13 days.
