Reddit's /r/place initially made its debut in 2017 as an April Fools' joke. It was a brilliant concept that became very popular at the time, with many people calling for its return over the last 5 years. Reddit thankfully listened and brought in back for 2022 April Fools. The concept is simple: there is a large digital canvas that anyone on Reddit can access and can add a single pixel to every 5 minutes. This has led to communities and nations rallying together to work on different pixel art projects for the canvas. Some of the art has been magnificent, some has been derogatory and troll like, and other works of art have just been fun-filled, such as the gaming-inspired art. See some of the best art below!

Featured on the left is Tux, the Linux penguin. The penguin is the official mascot of Linux.
The cursed void became more and more evil and cursed as it grew. However, this became quite entertaining for Redditors, as many memes were made about the growth of the void.
What's more magnificent in this image? The large lightsaber battle, or the mini one with the geese?
This beautiful piece was done to replicate the heartwarming scene from Avatar: The Last Airbender where they paid respects to Mako, the voice actor of Uncle Iroh, who sadly died in 2006.
