The Praying Mantis Is Here To Save 2020
While the media brought even more depressing news this week that murder hornets had made their way to North America to potentially kill humans, a new hero emerged on Twitter to save us all from this incredibly bleak year. It appears that the praying mantis is not only the hero we deserve, but the hero we need after a video of it killing a murder hornet went viral.
While the video is particularly gruesome, it does in fact show a villain being defeated that has brought additional anxiety to a nation already stressed out and suffering by the global pandemic. Naturally, "praying mantis" began to trend, albeit strangely under the food section of Twitter. Memes and GIFs were used to applaud the insect for its hard work and determination in rectifying 2020, and left many asking how they can purchase their own praying mantis as a potential bodyguard for all future threats.
