What Does 'Cat Pervert' Mean And Why Is It Trending On Twitter? The Viral Video Explained
A new viral video is spreading on sites like Twitter and it's all about cats. Despite having no actual cats in it, the video, known as "Cat Pervert," captures a heated argument between neighbors that's so juicy, it's been climbing Twitter's trending section in the U.S. and Canada. Here's why.
What Is The 'Cat Pervert' Video?
At the end of June, ViralHog uploaded a video to YouTube showing a fairly one-sided argument between neighbors. The video depicts a cat owner yelling at his neighbor for "harboring" his cat because the cat likes to spend time on the neighbor's lawn. The angry cat owner demands that his neighbor shoo the cat off his lawn when he sees it and even threatens to call the police.
The kicker, though, comes when the cat owner calls his neighbor a "cat pervert" for allowing his cat to hang out on his lawn. The video went viral on Facebook in early July when Daily Mail shared it, then more recently went viral on Twitter and Reddit, the cat owner's behavior shocking many. According to the caption on the original upload, the cat owner called the cops but they quickly hung up on him.
How Is 'Cat Pervert' Used In Memes?
The cat pervert video inspired reactions on Twitter as it went viral, quickly shooting it up Twitter's trending page in the U.S. and Canada. It also inspired memes based on the funny term "cat pervert," which nobody is quite sure how to define. Many were simply curious why the term was trending and upon finding out, only became more confused.
Some of the more popular memes to come out of the video include a fake post by Marjorie Taylor Greene showing outrage over the video, an art piece by artist @rosedoodles and a mashup of the angry cat owner and the woman yelling at a cat meme.
