The first big redraw meme of 2025 is here, and it's got all your favorite ship pairings tricking each other into flexing their muscles.

The meme is known as "When He's Copying Your Snaps So You Pull This Move" (or "Boom Shakalaka Yess Gawd"), and it's based on a video that was uploaded to TikTok back in December.

Now, it's going viral across multiple social media platforms as people redraw the original to create memes.

So what exactly is the meme and where did it come from? Here's what you need to know.

What Is The 'When He's Copying Your Snaps' Meme?

Around December 21st, 2024, TikToker @bostynbaker posted and deleted a slideshow meme that is now the basis for the "When He's Copying Your Snaps" trend. The first slide is a selfie of the TikToker reading, "When he's copying your snaps so you pull this move," the second shows her flexing her bicep and the third shows a man flexing his bicep.

The joke is that she posted the flexing photo as a Snapchat knowing that the boy she's snapping would copy her, therefore getting him to show off his muscles without asking.

That same day, an X user reposted the original slides along with a redraw of the slides, replacing the TikToker and the flexing man with characters from the Genshin Impact ship pairing Haikaveh.

From there, the redraw spread like wildfire across X, also becoming popularized on TikTok, Reddit and Instagram.

How Is 'When He's Copying Your Snaps' Used In Memes?

Since going viral on X, the three slides from @bostynbaker's upload have become the further subject of redraws. The majority of these redraws take popular ship pairings from anime, movies, etc. and represent them through the slides.

Essentially, the format is being used to show off a specific ship dynamic that many people love.

The redraw format has taken off across TikTok, X, Instagram and Reddit and it's only gotten more popular throughout January 2025. It's still unclear why @bostynbaker deleted her original version of the meme, but one thing is sure: it's never going to die now that it's been turned into a meme.
