One of the most well-known Five Nights at Freddy's artists, PinkyPills, is going viral after announcing that she would no longer be working on the series. Rather than wish her well, though, the announcement is largely inspiring celebration among her haters, who see her as too controversial and problematic to continue working on the series. So what is it that makes PinkyPills controversial and why is she leaving now? Here's what you need to know.

Who Is 'PinkyPills' And Why Is She Controversial?

PinkyPills is an artist who has worked on numerous pieces of FNAF media since 2017, with her artwork most notably appearing in several FNAF comics and the game Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Simulator. She began as a fan artist, but was hired by FNAF creator Scott Cawthon due to her talents. However, not long after she was hired, she became the subject of much controversy and backlash over her art and her conduct.

The list of purported allegations and controversies is long. Some of the most pressing concerns are allegations that she traces lots of her art, over-sexualizes the animatronic characters from the game, which has a strong child fanbase, has a para-social relationship towards Cawthon, showed public jealousy towards another artist Cawthon hired, and depicted William Afton as a child predator in the comic "Daydreaming," which he is not known to be.

Why Did 'PinkyPills' Stop Working On 'Five Nights At Freddy's Art?

The allegations against PinkyPills built up between 2017 and 2024, with a timeline detailing the allegations going up on /r/fivenightsatfreddys in April 2024. Then, at the start of May, PinkyPills took to X to announce that she would take a break from working on the FNAF series. Many celebrated this announcement due to her controversies and it is assumed this is why she quit.

Scott Cawthon made a statement on the announcement, writing that he admired all the work she put into the series and that he'd be open to working with her in the future. This statement was not met well by fans, who wanted Cawthon to cut all ties with her. He then posted another statement claiming PinkyPills was "moving on to other projects," seemingly suggesting she would not be working on the series anymore.
