The Weekly Meme Roundup: The RFK Jr. And Mark Robinson Scandals, Memes About Diddy's Arrest And More
Man, what a week.
Hitherto unfathomable humiliations rained down in spades this week with cameos from some of America's most notorious figures. In that timeframe, there were still some memes and goofs that arose, which gives a lot to cover. Let's dig in.
RFK Jr. Olivia Nuzzi Cheating Scandal
Arguably the most salacious scandal to drop this week (which is saying quite a bit for the quality of scandal this week) involves third-party Presidential candidate Robert F Kennedy Jr. engaging in an "emotional and digital" affair with New Yorker columnist Olivia Nuzzi, who profiled Kennedy in an article for the publication in late 2023.
That phrasing seems to indicate that there are likely salacious texts the pair have sent to each other, and, perhaps thankfully, those have not yet been posted online. Nevertheless, the thought of the 70-year-old Kennedy engaging in improper behavior with the 31-year-old Nuzzi had social media hooting and hollering, as it seems this election cycle still has incredible surprises to deliver.

Mark Robinson's Posting History
As if a Presidential candidate having an affair with a reporter wasn't scandalous enough, the very same day the RFK-Nuzzi story dropped, CNN reported on the posting history of Republican North Carolina gubernatorial candidate Mark Robinson, and it is quite a doozy.
Frankly, we would get punished by algorithms if we repeated exactly what Robinson posted during his time frequenting the forums of adult content site "Nude Africa" between 2008 and 2012, but trust that it is jaw-dropping (you can read much of it above if you're really curious).
Some printable examples include arguing for the reinstatement of slavery and stating that he enjoyed watching transgender "adult content," though he's currently an exceptionally vocal opponent of transgender rights.

Diddy Gets Got
The hammer fell hard on rapper Diddy this week, as the media mogul was arrested and held without bail following the many lawsuits he's faced throughout the year. Furthermore, the indictment against him was unsealed, and the allegations within are intense.
The most intriguing part of the unsealed indictment was Diddy's so-called "Freak Offs," which we only know involves thousands of bottles of lubricant. As social media and the courts begin to parse through whatever wild and potentially criminal activities Diddy got up to, one can rest assured there will be more memes coming out of the Diddy trial in the coming months.

You Can't Be Punk If …
With all the capital-N News this week, it was difficult for the usual meme templates to break through, but a couple did, starting with You Can't Be Punk and Also Be. An old comic from 2020 outlining what some perceive as the "rules" of punk saw a revival this week. This was thanks to a post glazing Elon Musk, as one of his fans tried to say the billionaire and entrepreneur was "punk," actually.
There are likely few "punks" who would recognize Musk as one of their own, and the post was mocked with edits of an infamous comic template as trended online over the last few days.

SocialAI
Despite all the horrifying and scandalous things going on this week, perhaps the worst is the introduction of SocialAI, a social network that only you are on. By that we mean SocialAI is basically Twitter, only instead of interacting with people, you interact with an infinite number of AI bots who react to your every post.
The Dead Internet Theory personified app drew lots of attention this week, as many felt it was a terrifying and depressing concept. Early reviews, on the other hand, were more positive, as the app earned a 4.3/5 in its first few days on the App Store.
