TikTokers have been inundated with videos set to catchy music and a man urging them to move with More Passion, More Energy, More Footwork. The trend took off on the platform in 2023 and has people showing off their pets as well as their own personal interests. But whose voice is urging someone to throw more zest into their dance moves, and who was the original dancer being trained? Here's the origin of the viral TikTok trend.

Where Does The Audio Of Someone Saying 'More Passion, More Energy' Come From?

In July 2023, a British TikToker posted a video of a man known to his fans as "Billy the Quid," a homeless man infamous in his home residence of Chatham, Kent, England. He supposedly got his name for his persistence in asking for a quid from passers-by, with videos of Billy being posted on TikTok by various Chatham residents for months.

The video showed Billy the Quid busting some dance moves as the cameraman urges him to dance with more passion, more energy, and more footwork. Billy, to his credit, attempts to oblige and does a ready jig. The video gathered over a million likes in a month, and the sound from the upload became the basis of a viral TikTok trend.

How Did 'More Passion, More Energy' Become A TikTok Trend?

In the weeks after the original video of Billy The Quid went viral, various other TikTokers began using the sound to share their own videos. An early example of one such upload is a video posted by @Bradley_Declan, where they liken the sound to how they act after crying at night.

Another early viral example of the sound being used was a TikToker posted by @caaaileigh, where she roped her horse into doing some fancy footwork with her.
