What Is 'Twitter Wrapped 2024'? The Trend Inspired By Spotify Wrapped Explained
If you've ever looked at your end-of-year Spotify Wrapped and wished you could also see a run-down of the rest of your internet activity as well, you may have just come one step further to your dream. Exa AI Labs' Twitter Wrapped is giving people a highlight reel of their past year, summarizing their "top topics" and most popular tweets, albeit to some mixed reactions.
What Is 'Twitter Wrapped' And When Did People Start Talking About It?
The success of the music streaming app Spotify's yearly music rewind had people bemoaning the lack of a "Twitter Wrapped" early this December. Several Twitter, or as it is now called, X, users made posts jokingly asking for a Twitter recap, while others edited their Spotify graphics to reflect what they thought should show up on their "Twitter Wrapped."
Come late December 2024, it appeared that someone was heeding their calls. On December 26th, the X account @ExaAILabs made a post announcing their "2024 Twitter Wrapped" tool, writing, "Exa-powered AI finds your favorite topics, top tweets, and even whether you’ve been naughty/nice 😈"

How Did People React To Twitter Wrapped?
X users began sharing their Twitter Wrapped soon after it was released, with @wifekisser303 reacting to a result that emphasized their alignment with YouTuber "ContraPoints," and saying, "my twitter wrapped has me eyeing the toaster." X user @MandoDoesStuff also posted a section of their Twitter Wrapped that day, gathering over 100 likes in a day.
YCombinator CEO and President Garry Tan also posted a screenshot of his "Twitter Wrapped," tying it to his career in tech by writing, "Society is about to be supercharged by AGI so it’s no mistake that charting a path for policy that paves the way for legalizing math, merit and prosperity has been on my mind."
But not everyone was pleased with the idea of a Twitter Wrapped — or at least one made using AI. Several X users criticized others for using Twitter Wrapped after learning that the tool used AI technology. X users @slimeyness and @courtsidekenny both made posts criticizing the tool, with the latter saying, "(Everyone hates ai until it's wrapped in cute clothes 😂🥴)"
