TikTokers have fallen in love with the hit 2019 FKA Twigs song "Cellophane," but it's probably not the version you're thinking of. Instead, they're bumping a cover of the song sung in the style of Miss Piggy that first started making the rounds early last year. Here's where the hilarious sound comes from and how TikTokers are using it.

What Is The Miss Piggy "Cellophane" Cover Meme?

In February 2022, a now-deleted Instagram user named boyfriend__dick (now boyfriend.dick5) posted a screen recording of a conversation between themself and someone else. Specifically, they posted a voice note where boyfriend.dick5 sings "Cellophane" in the style of Miss Piggy. Although the original clip is deleted, the user reposted it to Twitter in December 2022, calling it one of their "greatest accomplishments" of the year.

The "Cellophane" cover blew up on TikTok prior to the Twitter repost, first gaining steam on the platform in November 2022 when the original, acapella version was remixed with the instrumentation from the song. From there the original sound blew up, seeing over 87,000 uses by January 2023.

How Is Miss Piggy's "Cellophane" Used In Memes On TikTok?

The Miss Piggy version of "Cellophane" has inspired a lot of videos simply praising it for being hilarious and somehow very touching, with some even suggesting it surpasses the original. Many users are using the song as a backing track on videos of their adorable yet derpy dogs, with a huge focus on borzoi's, or as TikTok refers to them, the "long nose dogs." Some of the most popular examples show dogs looking sad while having a bath.

The song has also inspired some remixes and edits on YouTube, like a version where FKA Twigs duets with Miss Piggy and a lo-fi hip hop remix. Basically, you can use this sound however you want, but if you have a borzoi you're going to have the most success.
