Yes, do lay off. It's not even between me and him. It's between himself and his ego. (Or himself and not clicking refresh yet.)

I don't expect an answer.

So… What were we doing? Oh right! PONIESSSS!!!

Either a double bass, or a bass clef.
Edit: Also WTF is going on between Citation and Connor?

In my original head canon it was something so "unique" that Gigatoast would rage for weeks if he knew it.

I have no idea though. I'm always known as the smart kid (at least at school), but I don't really know. I like writing a ton more than science now. If I had to choose one it would be the stock open scroll cutie mark.

Think of mine as a triangle. Now divide it up at the bottom corners, like a triforce without the top triangle. Color the bottom corners black, and a black line straight down the middle. Color the blank spots a deep neon purple (not light urple, the blacklight purple) and flip upsidedown. My cutiemark is made.

A friend asked me if I could do his art homework for him cuz he had something to do, but I still remember the time he gave me the wrong answers to a test just to be a dick. this is what he is getting.
Kinda NSFW

WTF is that supposed to represent?

I followed your instructions and got this:

@dac

The black represents the past, always there, hanging over your head. The deep purple represents the fog that my mind is always in. The color was taken from Jimi Hendrix's song "Purple Haze".
@BSoD Something like that. The black triangles should be bigger, as if there were 4 evenly sized triangles within the one.

I would probably have to say an armed dove.

Not only does this avian emphasize my role as a Christian (doves are a common symbol in Christianity) and my interest in aerial warfare, it also shows my fondness of irony and the contradictory role of a peaceful warrior.

The dove is a creature of peace yet this one holds a weapon. It shows potential for kindness but also shows potential for aggression. Does it bring harmony or war?

@ Connor:

Oh? You live in Utah?

There are hardly any bronies I know in real life from where I live.

There is a guy I know on the Internet who live in San Jose is a brony, but I only talked with him briefly on a stream. Man, I wish I knew more bronies in real life.

Now time for something to attract the TL;DR posters and late night debate clubbers.

We've had plenty of discussions on R34 and all things related too it. But one thing that we haven't discussed into dust (as of yet) is Rainbow Dash's sexuality. It's mostly accepted in some form (even if just irony in most headcanons) that RD is a lesbian or bisexual. Let us discuss where this came from, why it is, what you think about it, your personal opinion on the matter, yadda, yadda, yadda.

So without further adieu…
This topic is declared [OPEN]

If Rainbow dash could see us…

Click the pic for lulz!

Well, im gonna join the discussion, throw some points at u (feel free to discuss them, etc) but I don't think it will be TL;DR for the most part:
-
Rainbow Dash – sexuality:

-She isn't a lesbian, just a competative strong woman/female. Nothing wrong with that
-I joined a gym and I see a lot of things (besides hot women) and that is women working out, and not burning fat or anything, no, lifting the heaviest shit there and building muscle (yet not looking like a dude, just like a fit hot chick) so the line between manly/womany stuff is dead for me, gone.
-She has a more manly attitude, which is perfect since I know straight guys who have a girly attitude.
-She is one of the characters that a lot of people can relate to, and thus the show is more welcoming for them. First off guys, because she has the need to be competative, strong, etc she appeals to guys, and girls who would rather be strong and stuff and not all weak and need a strong guy for everything. R.D. Appeals to a very large part of the audience.
-Lets assume she is lesbian for a second, whats wrong with being one? Nothing, stop living in the past.
-Rainbow Dash is a character that shows the audience that being strong, independant is fine and that is why I respect the writers, the Voice Actors, etc for making that connection.
-As for the rainbow mane, a little color is nice, takes way longer to draw her than say… Fluttershy.
-
Deviant Art – speeding
-
Interesting topic, and for once I participated in a discussion. whoa.
-
edit: and with that, I say goodnight. Got some important stuff to do tomorrow, night guys.

Okay, so it's this topic.

I personally don't think that the sexuality of the ponies are well-defined (except for Rarity), but that's not to say that I think they're all bi or undecided. By not well-defined I mean they aren't, well, defined. The ponies don't have explicit sexualities, with the exception of Rarity, and so far that hasn't really been important to the show.

Now as to the origins of RD's supposed lesbianism, I think it stems from her fulfilling many of the stereotypes commonly associated with lesbians – being an athlete, tomboyish etc. But, I think that it's an unfair comparison because, like I said, it draws heavily on stereotypes. Saying that someone (or pony) must be dyke-y because they act in a manner typical of men is rather crass. The assumption works in the converse too, of course; many effeminate men are assumed to be gay without hesitation.

But as we all know, this isn't always the case. So, saying that RD must be lesbian or bi because of the way she acts isn't fair. From what I've observed, her love for her friends is purely platonic. Sure, her behaviour might be masculine at times, but that means nothing. Some people even go so far as to assume her mane is a reference to her sexuality, which I think clearly shows their desperation to make the connection.

Now, ignoring what I just wrote and assuming that RD is in fact lesbian, let me continue. The forced inclusion of homosexuality in the show is something worth thinking about. Superficially, it would seem to be good that one of the main characters is gay – inclusion and all that. But the problem here is that her character is rather too butch to be taken seriously; assuming that RD is gay makes light of people who are actually gay by further promoting unfair stereotypes. So in that way, I think that her being gay is somewhat detrimental.

Also, there's the whole issue of sexualizing the ponies. I'm not talking about R34; that is a separate entity and can remain as such. I'm talking about the application of sexuality to the characters as they stand in the show. This is something I disagree with – to me it takes away form the show's innocence and joy. The ponies don't need to be sexual within the construct of the show, so I think labelling them as straight, gay, bi, etc isn't needed and is detrimental.

So, personally, I don't really care if RD is lesbian or bi or straight; I shouldn't need to care, unless I were writing a clopfic or something of that nature. While it does have a bearing on many of the headcanons of the fans, I don't let it perturb me – I think "she is what she is," and if the show decides to show differently, then I will adjust my thoughts accordingly.

Only 3 ninjas? :(

And welcome to the club Ivan.

Actually I am pretty sure the nature of RD's sexuality has been discussed before quite fluently.

The best argument people made in previous discussions is that her sexuality should remain a mystery in the show, as for our headcannons I preferred the idea that RD is simply asexual and would actually be quite surprised if anyone tried to hit on her. The whole thing about her being a lesbian is just a Brony in-joke

I'd say more but I think Ivan summed it up nicely

Oh and NemisisPyro, before I forget.

Is THIS your cutie mark?

[edit]

opspe slipped his post in right before mine and he also summed it up perfectly. Right that saves me a lot of typing. Next Topic!

FINALLY CAUGHT UP WITH THIS THREAD.

Here's the answer to the cutie mark question:

See if you can figure it out :P

Also, this would be my reaction during my pony genocide phase a couple months back:

As for the RD sexuality topic….I recall I posted a long essay about pony sexuality in….Pony Thread III was it? You can dig that up if you want :P

So, it seems like some people don't like the idea of any sexuality in MLP. Personally, I don't have a problem sexualizing it. Sex is an essential part of survival, not something that should be considered taboo. Plus, its been said by lauren that the breed just like any other mammal. Anyways, I'm sure most people just do it for shits and giggles. Im not saying that others should think this way. If you don't want to want to think of their sexuality, by all means don't.

I don't have a problem with ponies having sex for the propagation of the species, or even for pleasure for that matter. I just don't like how certain sexuality traits are needlessly thrust upon the characters. But it's not something I think about a lot.

I never implied that I think there is no sexuality whatsoever. My adult mind does not permit me to think otherwise. Rather it simply not a subject I dedicate much thought to. My point is that RD is no exception to that, her sexuality can be anything, I don't care. Nothing about who she is, or what she does implies anything on the matter.

My idea of her being asexual is more of a rebuttal towards those who call her a lesbian rather than a logical conclusion plus that conclusion is unique to RD. I have made no such conclusions on the sexuality of any other pony except for rarity's canonical heterosexuality.

I know now why you don't think of ponies sexually, but it is something i will always do…

Im just messing around.

Not bad.
Im not a great artist by no means, but one tip. use guidelines, or you know, that funky looking sketch with simple shapes and a basic skeleton thing. It really helps and if you do that, you can make anything without looking at a pic for more than just the little details in the hair and whatnot.

@Engie

Nice, is this where we start drawing Pinkamena? Let me try:

@Dac

She appears to have a severely broken spine after dash stood on her. But she is made of rubber so she is fine.

@ opspe:

Apology accepted. It's not unusual for Laker fans like me to receive hate from other NBA fans. I used to have a couple of classmates who were Warrior fans and made fun of me and some other Laker fan whenever the Lakers lose a game.

How does it feel to root for a plastic soulless corporate entity with no tradition outside of Minneapolis?
