@Back to the doc, are we?
Maybe I'm viewing the producers' goals a little differently, but I never really got the impression that they were trying to make an unequivocally positive movie glorifying all that is 'Brony.'
De Lancie primarily became interested in doing it based on his rather sudden and odd immersion in a fandom he had never expected.
They put out casting calls for people of many different backgrounds to tell their stories.
To me, it's going to be a lot of 'How did you become a Brony?", "Why do you like being a Brony?", etc, etc.
Though there are many darker parts of the internet that they could explore, I think most of us can agree that few people are bronies solely because of the porn.
Even if they create, buy, or regularly 'use' it, it's the show itself and the community built around it that has been the true impetus for the creation of this rather unique little phenomenon.
Basically, they are trying to document the founding and birth of the fandom.
The seedier side is really more of an after effect.
Oh, and I just wanted to say that you can be in support of the documentary without caring what other people think.
I love this idea because it will let me see into an event (and the lives off people attending it that I would have never seen otherwise.
Even if they cherry-pick only the 'good' stories, it will still be interesting to see where everyone came from and how they found the show.
@Ponibooru shutdown
That really sucks…
Ponibooru was the fandom's primary image repository.
Hell, half of EQD's drawfriend posts had Ponibooru's tags in the file names.
We'll move on and migrate to a new site, sure, but it's still sad to see it go…
