It has to do more with gender roles and the expectations of such. It's one thing for a woman to like this, but for a guy to like this? You might as well say you dress like a drag queen on weekends, though obviously it's not that way. Most bronies just managed to stop giving a shit about what guys are expected to like and like what they like.

But I think the entire male gender role is ridiculous because it makes us suppress emotions and expects every guy to be a Jersey Shore-watching asshole who only thinks about sex and drinking. I'm thinking the brony fandom is a backlash to all of this, and a good one at that.

Anyway, I like Darth Franny's art. On the whole, it's safe and viciously cute, but there are a lot of images that are borderline R34. (Look for one with Pinkie from It's About Time.)

I actually enjoy friendshipping because it removes the sexual aspect while adding a dynamic which is more than "just friends" (i.e., why can't Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie be better friends with each other than they are with the other mane ponies?), and whitediamonds along with Darth Franny are among the best at it.

Tensions rise between the pony and zebra nations as there's a coal shortage in Equestria, and all of the coal deposits are in zebra lands. After a huge misunderstanding at Luna's Magic Academy that leads to a shootout between the two races, war is declared. Celestia steps down from the throne in shame for letting the massacre happen, and Luna takes her place as ruler of Equestria. However, the zebras have religious beliefs that lead them to fear Luna as if she were still Nightmare Moon, so this act only leads to more aggression. Luna turns to the mane 6 to strengthen Equestria using their special talents:

• Twilight founds the Ministry of Arcane Science, and they focus on magical research.
• Rainbow Dash founds the Ministry of Awesome, not going to say what they do because it's a pretty huge spoiler.
• Applejack founds the Ministry of Technology (or War, I forget which) and they focus on supplying the Equestrian army.
• Rarity founds the Ministry of Image, and they make wartime propaganda to keep Equestrian morals up during the war.
• Pinkie founds the Ministry of… something. It might be Laughter, or Morale, or something like that. That's where this poster comes from.
• And finally, Fluttershy founds the Ministry of Peace, which offers medical aid to the armies and tries to end the war by diplomatic means. That's the poster you just posted.

It looks like someone modded it into Fallout: New Vegas to get that effect.

I'm glad to see that this time we had very few people bothered about it. I remember on the first 2 or 3 threads when pages 34 and 69 where exclusively dedicated to shipping and (semi) pony pr0n, and because of that, many jimmies got seriously rustled and the discussion became kind of a taboo here.
But it's good to see that, despite the many conflicting opinions about the issue, we are are able to deal with it in a mature and light-hearted way. Bronies, I am proud.

Maybe we can now discuss the question I posted earlier:

Do you people think RD’s rainbow mane is real or fake? The reason I’m asking is because every other pony in the show only has only one or two mane colors (with the exception of Twilight). Rainbow is the only pony with a very large spectrum of colors (alicorns not included) in her mane, so genetically this would be near impossible. Hair dye was also made cannon in the “Ponyville Confidential” episode, so it is definitely possible for her mane colors to be fake.

And yes, I mean every pony. I checked the entire list of ponies to make sure. Twilight’s bands of color could also be fake, because she has three different colors, and they’re only bands.

Correct me if I’m wrong on any of this. And yes, I’m over-analyzing. Because it’s fun.

I think Rainbow's mane colour is real, since, you know, her name? It would make no sense if her parents named her Rainbow Dash if her mane wasn't rainbowy.

Multicoloured manes are very rare, yes, being found on very few ponies (I can only think of Twilight, Rainbow, and Colgate), but odds are, it's probably genetically coded somewhere, like the genes for being a unicorn/pegasus supposedly are (cough cough Baby Cakes cough cough Mrs. Cake cough cough adultery cough cough).

If the colors of her mane were fake, I feel her cutie mark would be a different color.

Since the names in Equestria are oddly prophetic (as discussed in a thread on the ponyhub), her name could also be from the fact that she pulled off a sonic rainboom.

It's also in my headcannon that the ponies change their names upon earning their marks, mainly because I don't like the whole prophetic thing. Either way, her mane could still be fake.

Personally, I think it's real but, as Twins pointed out with the Baby Cakes thing, incredibly rare.

Nah, it's cool. I was just kidding around. I realise that I'm probably the only person who posts here who's actually read it, so I don't expect anyone to know anything about it. I haven't finished it yet. Like you said, it is very, very long (almost as long as the Harry Potter series!), and I found myself losing interest towards the end. However, I've heard that the ending is better than the offspring of Awesomeness and Epicness if it were made of pure Swag, so at some point I might push my way through the last few chapters to get there.

It's very much a grimdark fic, with emphasis on 'grim'. Ponies get blown up, or shot, or mauled, or ripped into pieces in pretty much every chapter. It's very depressing at times, as you follow a very flawed protagonist in an incredibly broken world. However, it's still a brilliant story, even more so if you're familiar with Fallout lore (it makes some twists seem really obvious, as sometimes it follows the story of Fallout a little too closely, but it does help you appreciate the plot and characters a little better). If you're okay with all of those things (or even just not violently opposed), I suggest you give it a shot. The worst that will happen is that you'll get a few chapters in, you'll get offended or bored, you'll stop reading, and that will be the end of it. Hardly the end of the world. I don't normally enjoy grimdark fics, but Fallout: Equestria is good enough to make it enjoyable regardless.

Oh, I requested information from you like that. If I say something silly, then I hope someone will set me straight. But my point was that most people don't have as much of a tolerance for watching horses enjoy themselves as they do humans. It makes for a unique situation with FiM ponies that renders the arguments and corresponding stances "But they're cartoons! It doesn't matter!/But they're horses! That's disgusting/But they're like humans! It's not so bad!" too simplistic.

I also disagree that we have to find questionable content funny. To rage is to go too far, but I don't think not finding humor in it makes a person too much of a prude or anything.

As for Dash's hair, I tend to believe that it is naturally rainbow-colored. We don't know everything about Dash's background, but there's nothing in her personality that leads me to believe that she's concerned about anything else but being cool. I'd get the feeling she wouldn't bother dying her hair that regularly.

Now Rarity and her "mid-Atlantic?" accent is probably faked. There is the possibility that she went to some school for a few years once her parents realized that she wanted to live more of a posh lifestyle, so it could have been taught as well.
 
Back to Dash, her name is also Rainbow Dash. Sometimes, it seems like ponies get they're names from their families' occupation or their reputation (e.g., Applejack, Apple Bloom, the Cake Twins,) but I think how they look or how they act plays a part (e.g., Pound Cake (hits a lot and is aggressive,) Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy.)

We don't know anything of Rainbow's parents, but I think her name came specifically from her mane and how active she was.

Ooh, back on this topic again, eh, Verbose? I think I posted before that mares do masturbate irl. Good old Wikipedia taught me everything I need to know and a bit more.

My problem with R34 is that its all based upon human foreplay and stimulation. Look at any R34 work (I mean, if that's okay with you), and odds are, the ponies are drawn with human features, and are quite anatomically inaccurate relative to real horses.

I believe the fault lies within the audience for condoning and supporting the inaccuracies in the works. The R34 artists COULD actually do some research on horse copulation and foreplay irl and incorporate it into their works, but I doubt anyone would want to see that.

You can't really blame the brony fandom for being "out of control" and "disgusting" like many claim they are. It's no different than any others, asides from being unexpected, and massive. With any healthy fandom comes a significant amount of fan art, and with any fan art comes the inevitable porn.

We are almost forgetting what R34 stands for in the first place: "If it exists, there is porn of it."

Are you saying Rarity's accent is faked? Why, that's almost worse than claiming Applejack accent is fake! How incredibly uncouth!

I wouldn't say her accent is "fake", per se, more so, developed. I mean, you can't fake an accent that isn't even spoken anywhere.
