Anyways:

Remember how we were discussing other sentient species being introduced in the show? What races do you think would be likely, possible, or just plain awesome?

Personally, I think rams, stags, and boars would be pretty bad-ass. We already have goats and pigs, so rams and boars aren't far off, and deer can be seen as kinda girly sometimes, so a stag could be possible. Of course, rams, stags, and boars can gore, maul, and brutalize humans, but that's not really relevant, now is it?

I've been kicked by a deer, let me tell you, they will kill your ass dead!

Anyway, it would be cool if they were like elvish or w/e, living in the forest in seclusion but highly developed culturally and magically.

It would also be cool to get to know more about the Zebras and the Griffons, the only other race we saw a lot about was buffalo.
We know the buffalo are a nomadic commune of gatherers but we don't know anything about the zebra or griffons.

NOPE, TIME FOR THE RETURN OF TAKASHI'S PONY PARODIES! AND THIS ONE IS A DOOZY!

Partially inspired by a conversation on this picture, I’ve written a ponified parody of The Spell by one of my favorite bands, Derdian who tragically enough, aren’t anywhere near as popular as they deserve to be. (But you might remember them from my last pony parody, making this kinda redundant. Oh well.)

The thing I love about them is the fact that all of their songs are a part of one big, epic storyline set in a fantasy-ish environment.

I’m not gonna get into all the long details, (mainly because there’s still a bunch of stuff I haven’t figured out yet), so I’m just gonna focus on the song I linked to above.

This evil overlord guy named Trolghor has captured the heroic Golstar after he tried to lead a rebellion against him, (partly because Trolghor’s evil, and partly because he may-or-may-not have killed Golstar’s wife Loren.), and so with the help of his personal God of Evil named Mohzer, Trolghor brainwashes Golstar into going off to war against his biggest enemy (and Golstar’s buddy), King Exhentar of Astar.

What does this have to do with ponies?

Well like I mentioned in the aforementioned thread, I’m asking a question.

In my headcanon, Celestia may be a calm, unflappable and smiling monarch without a care at all because she knows how much her subjects love her.

But on the inside, she’s an emotional wreck who keeps her insecurities and sadness bottled up inside. The poor woman’s suffers from

1. Being immortal, and thus knowing that any attempts at having meaningful relationships with any of your subjects will only end in pain.

2. Being forced to spend a millennium without her beloved sister, the only one who she can truly be friends without fearing her eventual death.

3. Knowing the fact that she had to send said sister away for the greater good because said sister was overcome by jealousy and wanted to have the appreciation she deserves.

4. Having to defend her kingdom from the apocalypse on what apparently seems to be a daily friggin’ basis.

5. All the stress and legal bullshit that comes with being a monarch.

6. And God knows what other trauma.

The fact that she hasn’t snapped and become the tyrant that fans imagine her to be can only be described as a bloody miracle. This is a woman with truly Herculean amounts of self-control.

So what happens when that Self-control simply disappears?

Story is Discord comes back and works his mind-rapey magic on her. He “frees” her from that pesky self-control, and all the pain, despair and RAGE she’s built up for 1000+ years is being poured out in the form of her burning solar wrath. She’s become a mindless berserker lashing out at everything and everyone she once held dear, acting only on the desire to turn the world into a living Tartarus with endless Sunlight.

So the question is, If Celestia can’t stop herself from forcing Equestria to feel her fiery pain, who can?

Spike: He’ll try to take your mind!
Twilight: And he’ll bring you to die!

[Luna hugs her sister with tears in her eyes]

Luna: Don’t listen!

[Discord gets up and swats the others away, angrily stomping toward Celestia]

Luna: Don’t listen!

[Discord tosses Luna aside like a ragdoll]

Luna: Don’t stay with him!

[Discord touches Celestia again, ensuring his total control]

Celestia: YOU ALL WILL SUFFER AS I DID!!

[Cue bigass fight scene where the heroes are eventually forced to retreat because Luna’s been badly injured.]

Discord:

I am not your enemy, this is not your end.
I’ll remove your self-control, you are under my spell!
Burn Equestria to the ground! Share with them the pain you’ve felt!

Is it considered porn if its done tastefully? Like one of those artistic nudes (ex: Michelangelo's "David" or the pictures of Alfred Stieglitz).

I'm not really drawing her engaged in sexual acts.

idk man, if it isn't sexual I don't think it counts as r34 because r34 has to do with porn.

You should be free to draw what you want to draw so long as you are courteous enough to post it only where it is allowed.

I could easily see deer making an appearance (especially considering Lauren Faust's unused story idea), but really, it seems like almost all hooved animals are at least semi-sentient in Equestria.
I'd like to see a real (non-mousse) moose since they must exist somewhere nearby.
If the ponies get to do some more traveling, giraffes or camels might be interesting.
There are so many potential options that I can't pin down what I'd want to see more.

Sorry if you guys are done with this, but anyways I don't think the cross-dressing part is a big deal – it's the potential for the rights of others to be compromised that a person wanting to be treated as the opposite sex presents that complicates things. I remember my dad telling me about a man he worked with who wore women's clothes and tried to use the women's bathroom once but everyone stopped him. Honestly I probably would have stopped him too – for all they knew he wasn't really a woman trapped in a man's body but a man perfectly comfortable in a man's body just looking to creep around in there and hell, regardless of the man's intention I sure as fuck wouldn't tell all the women at my place of work that they had to deal with it just because he says he's one of the gals on the inside.

Heh. This reminds me of how I'm currently learning how to drive. I wonder if flying tests have poorly worded, backwards ass, confusing questions with multiple choice answers that are so similar to one another you have to stop and wonder weather the speed limit in a school zone is 25mph or 20. I would have known it was 20 if 25 wasn't there dammit, fuckers did that on purpose.

Being an artist on the internet seems to be like a high school girl, you can know how to use compensation, color theory, perspective, lighting and space. Once those Boobies show up your the Whore of class and guys will think they can make her draw anything because she likes it. either way as long as it has good fundamentals doesn't really matter what you draw, at least Is it anatomically correct?

Something I've been wondering.

What the fuck is Zecora doing living in a dangerous forest away from civilization in a foreign country hundreds of miles away from her land of birth? Ok, I get that we shouldn't assume that someone is an evil enchantress just because they're a zebra, but doesn't that origin story sound like a pretty solid background for someone up to no good?

Sounds to me like Zecora needed a quiet place to conduct her dangerous experimentation in the art of alchemy, and a nice secluded forest full of ingrediants and far away from the interfering zebra council was just perfect. The only ones that Zecora has to worry about are some backwater pony rubes, and whipping up the occasional cure to fix broken teeth or cutie pox is all that's needed to keep them off her back.

I'm sure that the Everfree Forest, being totally self-sustaining, would be a wonderful place for a zebra to live by themselves. They don't need anybody to maintain weather, vegetation, or animals, they just need to look out for themselves. It also likely has a lot of herbs, being a forest and apparently a large on at that. There's also the fact that it is fairly secluded, so she doesn't have to deal with anybody very often.

Well Zecora is a herbalist right? I'm guessing she wants to near a resourceful location. I hear that Everfree forest has all kinds of good potion ingredients.

She probably has her way of dealing with the dangers. Maybe she can throw potions of harming like you can in Minecraft

Seth's obsession over Trixie is starting to get a little annoying.

Like 2/3 of all his headers talk about her,and he pretty much embeds any song or piece of art that features her.

She is the worst pony, no joke, why would anyone be obsessing over her for more than a year now after seeing her in one episode where everyone, even the characters in the show, hated her?

Some people root for the villains, but c'mon, she isn't even villain status, she just sucks.

Inb4 she is in season 2 and has a really sad origin story and/or becomes a good guy.
Only then would I be okay with Seth posting about her all the damn time.

Zecora is actually a graduate student in a Poetry Masters course at Zebra University.
She came to Equestria as part of a 'study abroad' course and has made a personal challenge to herself to speak entirely in rhyme while she's there.
Being a college student, she has no money (crappy housing) and 'knows her way around an herb or two' if you know what I mean…

I don't know what Seth's deal is, but I like Trixie just because she's genuinely entertaining to me.
She's a jerk, but she's a jerk with flair.
She's far from my favorite or anything, but I would be happy to see her return (which has been all but confirmed to be happening), though not as a good guy.
That would totally ruin her whole persona.

I believe it is because Zecora is secretly a pothead. As Zebrica has outlawed use of recreational drugs, she sought asylum in Equestria.
Her house is remote because she doesn't want anyone smelling her bongsmoke and ratting her out.

The rhyming is also due to the pot. If the Beatles, Confucius and Sigmund Freud were druggies and came up with some extremely smart and creative things, I think a reefer zebra could figure out how to rhyme all the time.

Oh my God. Yes! I used to play that game too. It was so much fun. I still have my SNES but not that game. I should buy it and play it again. What’s funny is that the main character reminds me of Johnny Bravo.

That was a close one, I almost started ranting about how Trixie is worst pony and I don't get where her fans come from.

To be honest, I'm pretty sure Seth was joking when he said Trixie was best pony, because he's since said several times he likes Twilight the most. But people blew it out of proportion and took it seriously, so it became a running joke that made the Trixie fandom skyrocket. Same deal as Derpy liking muffins based off somebody noticing she said it in a crowd, so on and so forth.

Personally, I though it was kinda stupid having her return in season 3. She has absolutely no motivation whatsoever to return. To give you an idea, the Flim Flam brothers have a better reason to return to Ponyville than Trixie does. It's so far out of her character to ask for forgiveness that it'd be butchering her to have that happen, and having her come back for revenge is a bit far out, too, and ridiculous in its own sense. I think it was really just Studio B trying to appease the fans who wanted her to return, even though those fans never really though about why she would do that.

To be honest, the Everfree forest is only dangerous because the ponies think its dangerous.

It's really not much scarier than any of our own forest here on Earth. My guess is that Zebras don't control the weather or plants and animals like the Ponies do and Zecora thought the Everfree was just a normal place to put up shop since it had so much herbs nearby.

He's giving her more attention than the main six, it's really annoying at times. Trixie is already my least favorite character, so my opinion on this is most likely a bit biased, but Seth's constant forcing of her really just kills her.

It included the Classical Greek Period.

That and after seeing a badass sculpture of Hercules, I kind of realized nude art isn't that bad and can be nonsexual.

That I studied Greek and Roman myth (and all of its phallic symbology) and took Latin for 5 years (I once translated a poem that was solely dedicated to the poet using a bird as a metaphor for his d*ck).

Solaire still has a good point. Another alternative; she doesn't exactly like the whole "scheduled weather" thing and instead decides to live in a place where the weather's still self-sustaining. Alternatively, she wants a challenge.
