It was a very interesting episode, that dealt with an age-old question, is a lie that makes someone feel better a wrong simply because it is a lie? I wasn't expecting an episode like this, I just assumed it would be another Apple episode. – I was curious about the young Granny Smith flashback clip, from an animation point of view, since the colour is filtered to look old, do they actually bother colouring it all in like they usually would, and then add a filter to it, or do they just do colours based on shading regardless of what the actual colour is, and then add a filter.. They could colour it in tone of the filter, but that would be more work then the other ways of doing it.. I'm probably over thinking it.

Though before watching the episode the night before, I was listening to the Flim Flam Song, which is rare for me, since out of the MLP tracks, I'd listen to it at least once every 6 months, (for no particular reason) and I thought to myself "I wish they would reappear in a new episode.." and then the next day here they are…

@Deadparrot I hope DP and everyone else here don't get mad at me when I say I chuckle a little bit imagining Deadparrot in an Earthquake. Not because I wish to see him in trouble (quite the opposite, quite like the guy. Almost gave me a Scootaloo plush if I wasn't so against getting merchandise of the show) but because I can't help but laugh imagining a mountain of Scootaloo plushies tumbling down while Deadparrot runs over going "I have to save the Best Pony mountain!"

Ah ha, in all due seriousness: Sorry about the troubles DP, hope California doesn't drop off into the Ocean, and if it does make sure to make a raft of Pony Plushies.

Nah, if it wasn't clear in my first post about it, it was only very minor shaking, just oddly consistent.
In fact, only two plushies even fell over (and a few blindbags, but they sort of dominoed).

That said, since I founded her religion a short time ago, I know that Our Lord and Savior, Scootaloo, will protect me should anything else come along!

I did realize that if a strong earthquake were to hit while I was asleep, I'd probably be hit in the face by either Scootaloo, Rainbow Dash or Spitfire.
I guess they are my early alert system now.

I started playing Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker again, and during the Molgera fight, this immediately came to mind.

Hmm…

I just realized something stupid about a topic usually only brought up during NSFW fics. Namely the reproductive cycle of ponies.

…To keep this as clinical and SFW as possible… I don't think an MLP Pony's mating habits are likely to be the same as horses, specifically the times they go into season. Since the reason real world horses have developed in response to a condition based on how the cold and lack of food makes having a child during winter untenable.

Now think about how MLP ponies differ from this, and also how they are similar in habits to humans, who happen to be able to mate every month. In theory, the fact MLP ponies store food for all through winter so its not a problem for foals, and the fact they know how to make fire to keep warm would make a need to breed in one portion of the year only kind of redundant.

Since I know a lot of redundant genetic features tend to disappear over time, I assume that consequently ponies have a monthly cycle rather than a yearly one, much like humans.

…Well probably not exactly, but aside from the difference involving the main difference between estrus and menstrual cycles involving how the uterine lining is dealt with, they might generally have the same sexual behavior and timing of fertility as humans.

Blizzard is releasing a cosmetic part of their microtransaction shop for World of Warcraft, and one of the cosmetic options is a pink Moonkin Druid skin titled "Druid of the Party."

I wonder if this is a reference?

Blizzard may also have made a reference to Pinkie Pie with this NPC. Her name is Pink Peony (a type of flower), which sounds an awful lot like "Pink Pony." She wears pink and sells sweets in-game.

It may not be a reference, since peonies are actually pink, and it fits the Asian setting, but I find it oddly convenient that Blizzard is having her sell sweets.

That top one, eh I don't think that's a reference at all. Just a convenience at best.

That other one involving Pink Peony I'd say that's a lot closer to a direct reference to the show. It would be like if they had a Rainbow colored NPC that flew and could control the weather.

@Vinylbetes: Actually, I suppose it is kind of relevant with Vinyl rising to prominence, with stuff like Rainbow Rocks and displacing Jimmy's OTHER favorite Pony in the McDonald's lineup.
Actually almost makes me wonder if she'll end up getting a proper speaking supporting role in the actual show, mildly far-fetched but with how much they're milking her right now…
