EDIT: Woo woo woo! Page get!

The point about "basing their whole lives around the show" (#4) and "bringing it up and never shutting up about it" (#5) stuck out the most to me. Point #4 because if a fan likes a show, book, band, etc., it makes sense that they would buy the merchandise and where the shirt. As a personal example, I've easily spent several hundred dollars on t-shirts from my favorite bands at concerts and the only reason why I don't have any of those Game of Thrones t-shirts with the House sigils and words is because I haven't found the time to order any.

With Point #5, I admit to being pretty vocal about my love of A Song of Ice and Fire and Game of Thrones when prompted (and sometimes unprompted) but more along the lines of a mix between the "excited fan" and the "OMG you have to see this" fan. And, as the person who created this said, nobody, fan or otherwise, likes the pushy "fans" and I feel that kind of attitude harms the chances of others getting into any fandom.

TL;DR version: This is just stuff that is in every fandom and to claim that this makes a person weird for being a part of it is dumb especially when pretty much everyone does it.

Okay people, I have created our first draft of the photo containing only complete OC's posted so far

Yes it doesn't contain everyone, yes it has editing artifacts. It's only a draft. I just did this to give people an idea of what we are aiming for.

I'm still hoping for more OC but I noticed I ran out of space very quickly so we need BIGGER BACKGROUNDS.

Oh, I've got an idea if you want to stick with the Star Wars theme: The emperor's throne room!

It's a big open space so that's a plus. You can place Emperor RandomMan on a throne at the center with his loyal apprentice, Darth Verbage, at his side. Also, I think it'd be really funny to see a couple users outside the window.

Ah~, this brings back memories of other times I shooped BSoD.

It's bright. There's a ton of open space in that photo, the camera is panning down on it which suits the angle most OC's are drawn at. I can have all of us playing on that road. The only problem with this photo is that the camera is too far away. I needs to be up close

Fifths photo of the Death Star imperial throne room would also be ideal if it was just a bit brighter. Dark shadowy backgrounds aren't good for dark shadowy OC's such as myself and Lunar Protege

Nicely done. I absolutely love what you did with Stunthead. And socks are a nice touch. Karma for both OC's

If we are going to do that OC constructive criticism thing again, like what we did with Lunar…may I suggest reducing the size of your OC's head and enlarging the eyes, ears and horn? If you look at most ponies; the head is proportionately small compared to the other facial features.

The waist also looks tiny in proportion to the butt…or was that intentional? Does she wear a corset?

@BSOD: Thanks for the constructive criticism. I noticed the overly tiny waist after I posted the picture up. I actually have quite a struggle with pony faces as well for whatever reason, which is odd because the pony designs follow common anime/manga style traits, which is my bread and butter. Overall I just need to work on my ponies, which is part of the reason I'm offering up free OCs. I actually did a really nice Fluttershy sketch using my figurine as a reference the other day, but I can't seem to quite catch the same magic just yet. Maybe I'll do a rework of my own OC, but I need to get working on the final drawing for Kewln00b's request first (which has for whatever reason given me so much of a hard time T_T damn flying pones). I shall return!… Maybe!

Wings are hard right? I struggled with just Fifths wings. Had to google plenty of pegasi for reference and I still didn't get it right.

If you need some help with lightening the load, I'm pretty good at designing OCs and drawing pony figures. You're on your own for vectoring and coloring though.

It turned out great! To be honest, by the time I had thought up all the instructions, even I didn't know what it would look like. Glad to see you were able to make it work!
I will admit, though, that when I first looked at it, I had my screen tilted slightly and the light made it look like the back ear was part of his face. I was wondering why his nose was so long and pointy. Regardless, fantastic work. Now I can finally get shipped, right guys?

Oh, and my OC is named Fleece "Dags" Dagger. I thought of a big convoluted backstory too. I doubt anyone really wants to hear it, but in case you do, it's under the spoiler tag.

Well, I guess taking another shot at Kewl's OC was less hard than I thought. Thank god I have my Fluttershy figurine, it's much easier to use references when they are in 3 dimensions

He's supposed to be a shorter pony, which was easier to convey when I did my draft sketches in the generic pose, but might not be as noticeable when he's hovering like that ^^;

Still, Kewl also asked for a smug look, and I don't think you can get much smugger than that

@Fifths: I really appreciate the offer! Right now I only have one more request pending (and another one that requires a photo reference that hasn't been sent to me yet) and they just want it in the generic pose so I think I can handle it. I'll keep in touch in case I get any more requests, though (especially if it's another god-damned pegasus).

@Stunthead: I am so glad you like the OC (and you're even using it in your avatar! Oh how you flatter me). It actually wasn't all that hard to envision what you wanted, and I was happy to draw a non-pony OC. ^^

Well, I guess I'll wrap up the night by tweaking my own OC to make her ready for her close-up while I watch streams on twitch.

Except for the 'another' because you already worked hard on this OC and the fact that I can't find a Thor picture of him saying "I like it" in 5 minutes or less. I was going to give you a harsh "You didn't listen to me" rant about the color…..but then I remembered those were the colors I gave you and I remembered. Also…Love the goatee….wish my goatee were still that awesome….but I had to trim it for my job.

Vectoring and pencil sketching are very different animals

Oh sure, he/she can just post an OC in here or they can PM it to me and we'll use it. I'd encourage him/her to post here though. It's a bit strange being part of a family photo when you don't interact with that family. Everyones going to look back and think "who the hell was that guy?"

The last Family photo had inanimate objects or actual people as OC's. We even had some canon show characters which aren't OC's in the slightest

There's no real requirement for an actual Pony OC. We basically take whatever we can consider as your avatar

It's actually better to ease the pony restriction, because otherwise we get too many Pony Generator ponies and those things are way harder to work with due to their stiff monotone poses.

At least with self-created OC's of any kind, we end up with a bigger range of poses and thus more flexibility
