Oh boy

If this mean massive lore rape and disrespecting the legacy more like Shadow of War and Shadow of Mordor, then bring another casket, we have another dead franchise. Bury it right there, about where Mass Effect was buried, a little bit further up though.

The Lord of the Rings, one of the oldest pieces if English Fantasy Literature that's been around for almost 100 years.

My bad. Still, I do not wish it to be smeared and lore-raped to hell and back though.

As far as disrespecting its legacy, the worse case scenario is that it gets another star wars treatment like it did when the Peter Jackson trilogy came out. By that I mean it's going to be marketed like crazy. I had a toy sting sword myself and they had limited edition elf action figures and what not at Mcdonalds. And everyone I know to this day owns the one ring.

Oh, and unlicensed sting replicas as far as the eye can see at every swamp meet and smoke shop.

Oh boy, can't wait when people who did not read a single Tolkien book will talk how Gandalf raped Galadriel, how Gimli had gay secks with Legolas and how Frodo ripped off Sauron's spine.

Whose this Frodo? We all know Lord of the Rings is the story of a ranger named Talion and a ghost named Kellogs Blueberry who destroyed the One Ring with the help of Pushkrimp the Bard Orc and Sexy Shelobb.

I mean after the traumatic experience LOTR suffered on the hands of the hobbit movies I really don't think it can get any worse.

Hobbit Movies > LORD movies.

Less drama more fun, less slow shots of Aragorn looking forlorn, and more whimsical dwarven action.

I agree about first Hobbit movie, it was a masterpiece. Next 2 movies however weren't that great, boring at times and just overextended. Also Tauriel was a needless and annoying addition for a needless and forced lovestory.

Also I watched all 3 Hobbit movies in iMax, so maybe this is the reason why I liked first Hobbit that much.

No. The first one was decent, the other two are abominations when compared to the original trilogy.
