Ok my thoughts is to set up a tie between Niko and Witchy as they are my current suspects at this time.

I suspect Niko for fudging up ties and arguing with players. I also suspect Witchy for previous non-compliant behaviour.

Can we agree on setting up this tie?

You know i didn't suspect douglass at first but now he seem's like a mafia member. After all he seems like he's not really contributing and he just keeps going along with everything, what if this was just a ruse? What if he's trying to seem oblivious to maintain a facade of a shallow disguise of a villager just to make us think that he's harmless? Let's keep a close eye on him.

Hmm, interesting thoughts Clubba. He's still not as suspicious as some others who I am watching right now but I'll put your thoughts into consideration.

Right now I am waiting for more people to chime in and give their thoughts before I vote. I would particularly like to hear from Algernon, Natsuru, Gespenst and Leox as they hardly ever post here.

Wait, wouldn't the players the mafia killed have given it away? I can't imagine every player the mafia killed was the player you told him to kill each turn, if you gave him any message of what player you wanted dead.

Yes because i was making my own note that i was going to give the mafia, but when i thought i was a mafia i didn't know who the other mafia members were. And why would you ask this question?

Wow… this game is going really badly for us…

Since we have about 25 hours of voting left and no one's actually done anything, I'm going to kick things off by voting for Niko. I have previously stated my reasoning to this end.

As for what I believe. Currently I agree with the Nikolaki X Witch-King shipping tie idea. Both are notable suspects.

If I had to choose I would go after Nikolaki. During the last game people also found Witch-King suspicious, but in the end he turned out to be the Sheriff.

As for listing facts. I'll have to run through the information again, but I doubt much will come out. Raptur's suicide really fucked things up. It seems he's only willing to play if he gets a special role, when he's a villager he just derps around swallowing handgrenades.

Because I fail to understand how you didn't ask why people were getting killed that you weren't choosing.

I vote Niko. I've had my suspicions for a while now, ever since he intentionally attempted to break the tie back in round 1. I would vote Witch-King for the sake of keeping a tie, but I checked through the thread and I didn't see anything too suspicious from him. I'll change if anyone can point out any specific things he did wrong.

And sorry about my lack of activity in this thread lately. I just got back to uni and 'free time' has once again become a very rare and valuable thing to me.

Hey everyone, sorry I haven't been very active. So, previously I stated that the mafia's tactics are pretty simple. From this I'd say that the mafia is comprised of inexperienced players. This can be taken in two ways, players who are new to the game and players who have little experience in making radical decisions. I'll let you all take from that what you want.

@Bob: Hm, that's an interesting point. I assume by "simple tactics" you mean picking off everyone smart; that would be the simplest tactic. But does that necessarily indicate inexperienced players? So, I guess what I'm saying is that I'm not entirely following your logic there – you could easily be right, but the mafia could just as easily be playing it safe for now.

I'm beginning to suspect that the Mafia is using our method of building a tie to their advantage. If they direct suspicion at one person who isn't Mafia (I think it's Witch King in this case), they can easily manipulate the vote so that they will survive. (I'll assume in this scenario that one suspect is Mafia and the other isn't. They have an especially easy job if both of our suspects are non-Mafia).

All they have to do is split their votes 3:2, with 2 voting non-Mafia and 3 voting Mafia. If they do this, our tactic won't help us much at all, because in the end we'll lose yet another villager and it will only narrow our list of suspects down to 2/7 people from the dead player's vote pool and 3/7 from the surviving player's. As long as the Mafia keeps changing roles each turn, so that somebody voting Mafia one turn will vote non-Mafia the next, they'll be able to ensure their own survival while we systematically kill ourselves.

Obvious voting doesn't imply inexperienced players. By following a simple plan, they don't draw any suspicion.

@Algy: I think you might be on to something there. I'm going to suggest that the remaining people vote for Niko., both in the interests of evening out the tie, and because he seems the most likely to be mafia (to me at least).

Algernon has raised a very good point. I never thought about that.

Even if the mafia were not manipulating the ties before. They will now since Algernon just gave them the idea. That is a pretty good tactic indeed. This means that from this point forward our ties could be compromised

I voted for Witchy in the interest of maintaining a tie, but if our ties will not work anymore then it might make more sense to just vote for whoever you want.

For me, that may be Nikolaki. I suspect him much more than Witchy. Then again I am still not totally certain. The last time I was totally certain of a mafia was when I voted for RJ and look how that turned out.

Changing my vote to Niko may not matter now as I think the voting is closed. So I guess all I can do is hope for the best. If Witchy is yet another villager then I face yet another huge embarrassment.

For future votes, basically you all have a choice now:

-Maintain the tie in hopes that it will still deliver
-Abandon the tie and vote for whoever you suspect most

Actually, if opspe's post holds water, then it would be wet on the inside.

It would also mean that voting time has passed for this round. But since PWNED is running the game again, I'll let him count up the votes.

That doesn't stop you from considering it for the next round.

Voting time ended two hours ago according to my estimation, but I'll leave it up to Itiz. And anyways, no one has voted since I posted this morning.

As for the current anti-tie strategy, I'll reiterate myself and say I support this measure, starting next round.

At this point ties won't do the job anymore. So I support the vote whoever you find suspicious idea. The mafia will have a much harder time manipulating this.

Do bring arguments for you votes, as others might join you in your vote.
