Well this time I'm officially back and in no hurry to go any where.
But boy things turn out bad! I think only two things went out right. The first was lunch while the other is a bit more private, so I can't say it on the thread.

We're smart enough to figure out by ourselfs. Now. Have you seen the gameplay? I want to make sure everyone is okay with it.
Calling for Pio-Pio! Calling for Pio-Pio!

Well, it's fine. Kinda a stretch to memorize those button combos for specials, but I can manage with a little practice. I grew up with Smash Bros. I tried King of Fighters and Mortal Combat, and I kinda sucked at those, but that's because of the lack of button use in Smash Bros.

That's why I'd like to include a tutorial! To help players like you git gud…I mean, if you want to.

Lel. Which year did you play? That has bearing on the gameplay.
King of Fighters XIII. My friend downloaded it to his PS3, and that was the first one I've ever played.

Oh. Yeah, KOF is different from other fightan series. In fact, SNK is different. My first one was 99'. Was a bit rocky at first, but i got better.

I have no problems with the decided gameplay… as long as their are tutorials for them.

Yeah! I weally want a SkullGirls-esque tutorial that covers everything gameplay-wise and character wise.

Is that the kind of tutorial you meant?

Finally! I was beginning to get lonely and sad. Although, I wonder where everyone else is…Any who, we were just discussing a tutorial. I called you here because I needed more input. Thoughts?
SmackerJack wrote:

Yep, that's pretty much the one I was asking for.

Probably went to sleep, and such. Pesky thing, being human.
As for the tutorial, as a noob fighting gamer, I don't think it would be such a bad idea. If we could implement it into the game I see no problems. Though it probably would be just as good to be able to show the combo list in training mode.

Dude, you can see the combo list in every mode! Most fighting games have that. But older ones….Let's just say that 1999 was a frustrating year for me.

Good. Now, if possible, I want to go even deeper than SkullGirls. They explained a large amount of mechanics put into fighting games. But they didn't explain everything. Mind you, I don't want to go that deep. But I do want to cover a lot.

I'm really glad to know that I'm not the only noob fighter here helping out, man that felt good getting that out of my chest. As for the combo list? yeah, it wouldn't be too bad but i still like the tutorial idea. Especially if you have the habit of forgetting certain combo when you really need it.

What parts do you want to cover exactly that skullgirls didn't?

Oh, I did some reading, and should we exclude the concept of wavedashing, so that way we don't attract any noob tactics?

Wasn't wavedashing the results of a glitch? If this game ever becomes a reality and wavedashing some how manages to make an appearance then I'll probably laugh my ass off.
CrowTheMagician wrote:

Well….
Anti-Air
Armor
Command Move
EX Moves
Frame Advantage
Frame Trap
Frames
Free Cancels
Guard Break
Guard Cancel
Guard Meter
Happy Birthday
Hunter Chain
Okizeme
Ukemi
And many more! Okay. SkullGirls, despite being made by Lab Zero, is based of Capcom fighting games. And those are different than other fighting games. I'd like this, however, to based on fighters like KOF, Persona 4 Arena, Guilty Gear, and the like.
Now for the Elephant in the room:
Who, exactly, is going to code this?

Yeah, wavedashing has to get out of the room.

Explanation? What do you mean by coding? We're all new to this.

I mean to ask who the main programmer is going to be.

….Shit. I don't know.
So… Is there any reason to have a thread on the forums when other users aren't allowed to participate?
I mean, the whole point of a forum is user participation. To deny other people a voice goes against the very basis of a public forum.
Wouldn't this then be better if it was taken to a more private place meant for discussion? Something like Skype or something?
Pretty much.

Ah Crap! I don't have Skype so it looks like I wont be able to join in if that transition happens!

Then, we shall go to the IRC!

Declaring privacy is grounds for a permanent banning, as well as being reported to the NSA and UN.

I think it's more to prevent "HEY GUYS CAN I BE IN THE GAME" posts. I think that the thread should be a little more open, but posts offering help would probably be more appreciated that ones that just serve to add more work to the project.

That…does not give me warm fuzzies inside.

Well, yeah. But all those begging posts can be answered with a simple 'Go fuck yourself'.
You're free to voice your opinion in the rudest and crassest of ways here. As I'm sure you'll find out if you haven't already.
I mean, isn't the general rule of participation that if you want to be in it, you've gotta contribute?
Emerson Grey wrote:

I never thought of that!
What the fuck am I reading?
Only [list of people] are allowed in this thread. All others are not.
This is a public forum, fagtrons. You can't declare a thread to be private property.

I agree…Well, it's an easy fix, at least!

I think that might be a little much. Considering that a lot of this information needs to be put in a place where it can be easily re-accessed, I think a thread functions better as an archive than something that updates as quickly as an IRC page does. Though it might not be bad for making game-related decisions on what to include and whatnot.

But, we should still keep it in mind.

Problem being that you all are posting too fast. Some of you seem to just be waiting for new posts here, which will push down other threads used by other users.
Might I recommend MeetingWords , which has a chat and a saved document shared among people on the page?
Which is also private and free?

Well, yeah, but how could we recruit more people if it's private?

How would you have recruited if this was private?
Just keep the thread up. Allow users to audition their worth to this project then use meetingwords to discuss candidates.
Edit: Holy shit, first page get in a while. I feel so new.
Edit 2: Who deleted their post? I will ban the shit out of you.
