We should do the assist like in skullgirl, players can pick what the assist will do but instead of inputting it, we give a list of the moves so the player can pick them and bookmark em for other fights.

Don't forget about Xbox controls (since i play fighting games on the Xbox) oh and keyboard, even tho I not a fan of using a keyboard on a fighting game, we might as well do it.

Of course. And yeah. SkullGirls had assists down pat. But you could choose three characters in that one. So what I propose to do is map the assist buttons to the L1 and R1 buttons. Whichever one you press, you'll still be summoning the same person. Makes things easier when you're trying to pull of a combo and you don't really have time to think.

I heard this song that I think fits for the game, in regards to the plan of Super Robo Jesus being a tragicomic figure in the game that obsessed over becoming a Meme and/or His own Divinity. Nonetheless, it'd make for an awesome battle theme.

Man, am I glad you're here!

Errm, I know I'm not supposed to be allowed here, but I have a suggestion. If this is KYM we're talking about here, we should input an "audience" system, where good/showy actions (combos, KOs, breaking combos, ETC) get you Upvotes, which will have some sort of purpose, and bad actions (spamming, idling, losing, ETC) will get you Downvotes, which decrease your Upvotes. It's sort of like mixing a reputation system and currency system together.

Huh…Well, okay. So, when you win, instead of a little "v" for victory under your health gauge, there's a green thumb.

Green fireballs. Remember: Slow and heavy (does multiple hits) in tech mode; fast and light in magic mode.

Also, quick question – is my story (whatever it may be) still being paired up with SmackerJack's?

I second this! I meet up with you, we fight, become friends, and get assigned to take down Mei. By the way…have we gotten to my playstyle yet?

I don't think you get it. In tech mode, there's no magic. In magic mode, there's no tech. The tactics and styles switch between the modes.

Tech mode is supposed to be a fast, in your face style, while the magic mode is more push/range with a little melee. Not to burst your bubble, but that's how I designed it.

Oh, and in magic mode, I would do this one attack, similar to Roy from FMA. "Snap, then green flame explodes a short distance from me."

Great! That's even better! They could be switched! And, in Tech Mode, instead of a Fireball, it's more of a Electric punch…or scratch, since you're a cat, n'all.

We can make it a super. Two supers for each mode.

Hm….this could work as the scoring system.

Not exactly. It's going to be some sort of currency, so you earn them in battle, and the audience displays little upvote particles once you execute said actions.

Electric slash sounds better.

Oh. Well that seems a bit too advanced…BUT! They can be used as currency. We could have a shop. Y'know, peripheral stuff. Nothing that would improve or worsen the gameplay stuff. Just clothing type things.

S'what I said. Instead of "victory" markers, we have "upvotes".

No no no, upvotes are EARNED by winning, AS WELL AS combos, breaking combos, and being showy. Then, you use upvotes as money for shops or something.

Yeah, reskins, maybe stages. I have an idea for Karma values:
Combos: You get 2x your combo number in Upvotes once your combo ends.
Breaking combos: You get half of the amount of karma the combo-er gets if you are a cause of a broken combo.
KOs: You get about 20 Upvotes for winning.
Negative Karma;
Idling: After about 5 seconds not touching any controls, you slowly "bleed" Karma at a rate of 1 per second.
Spamming: After you use the same attack 4ish times, you lose 2 Karma every additional attack.

The last two I'm not exactly okay with. You shouldn't hinder the player like that. And negative penalties should only be given to those who back away from opponents. So….I think we should exclude the negative karma bit. And we already have something called a Karma Ability. Kinda like drives in BlazBlue. In fact, I vote that we change Wiskr Powah to Karma. Ash, you like that? But everything else is cool! We could use it in arcade mode! S'perfect!

I don't really know what I want tbh.
I guess by appearance I could be sort of a shadow-y being, kinda like Nocturne from League of Legends.
Haven't decided on much more than that yet.

I'm still catching up on all the previous shtuff you guys posted. But I posted my theme in an old thread.

I was thinking that an excerpt of this could be used for some sort of special event (since it's a pretty long jam).

Also, I vote that we change the name of each character's special ability to trait instead of Karma. And then I want to change the name of the Whiskr Powah Bar to the Karma Bar. Sounds better, eh?

Can we use the second one as your theme instead of the first one? I…like Metallica…

It's just that it's pretty loooooooooooooooooooooong. The only way you'd hear all of it would be if you paused the game or something, and I'd want it to be able to loop well.

Also, with all this talk of the flamewar assimilation thing, should the bad ending music be "Komm, süßer Tod" in lieu of that?

Time to watch some fights to see how good this could be.

I didn't know we were doing bad endings…I mean, it would imply that we're giving the player in-game choices. I originally though that we we're just gonna do a straight shot story.

Sounds good but we are going to dump "Whiskr Powah" all together since the name sounds so…..ehhhh

{Puts the cannon near the flat screen}

Whew..! That was kinda heavy! Now then…

LET'S GET DANGEROUS!

This post will detail most, if not all, plot-important thingies I and the rest of the team came up with. May add some things that I have yet to present. I would also like that one of you could do the same with stages, so we can review them without re-reading several comment threads.

Got it? If so, then let's jam.

1. The World

1.1 Genesis

In ages long ago… there was nothing but darkness, black as the abyss….
Then someone finally paid the electricity bill and lo, there was light.
From it, the Internet'verse came about – a place like no other, vast as the cosmos and as random and mysterious as a woman’s purse.
In it, there lies many realms, each one more weird than the other. No, seriously it’s f%ing weird.
Also, there’s a lot of cats. Why? Well how should I know, I’m just the narrator!
Anyways, one of those is known as KYM World, a land dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge from the vast reaches of the Internet'verse, about it culture, traditions and motives.
Oh, and it’s full of pastel horses and boob GIF’s but hey, nobody’s perfect.
It’s still was a mostly peaceful place. But, as always, shit hit the fan.

1.2 The Races of KYM World

The Users:

The "humanity" of the Internet'verse and the majority of population on KYM World. They come with many forms and shapes, from somewhat looking human to anthropomorphic beasts and cosmic entities. Then it gets weird.
They existence starts in form of a white protobeing, which derogatorily are called "NewFags. This states last but couple of minutes, before the User takes a far more unique, and often random, appearance, No one knows where the Protobeings truly come from nor where do they take the inspiration for their mature form, though there is a myth that they're inspirations of beings from another reality altogether. This has never been proven and it's laugh at by most prominent science circles of KYM World and beyond.
It should be noted however, that the shape and skill sets of an User can change with personal growth and experience. This my be a result of them possessing "The True Free Will", which allows them to define themselves as their wish. They are also mortal, thought a lifespan of Users may differ from person to person.

The Memes

If the User's can be considered humanity, then Memes would be akin to spirits and demons from folklore. They're beings that are born when a stream of light appears (no witness was ever able to confirm if it came from the ground or the sky) and from within a Meme emerges. Unlike Users, they are already adult and aware of their surroundings from the beginning. Memes are said to be second only to Caternals in being closest to the quintessence of the Internet'verse, as they are personifications of the cultures, trends and passions scattered thorough many realms. A such, however, they're not truly "alive", nor do they posses the "True Free Will" as the Users do. A Memes power, form and capabilities are defined by overall conception of them thorough the worlds of Internet'verse. This, in turn, gives them a form of immortality, rendering them un-killable. It's important to remember, that the Memes are aware of their lack of TFW and often resent the Users for it.
There are theories, however, that it would be possible to kill an Meme, by extracting it's Essential – the essence of a Meme, which holds it's existence together. It should be noted, however, that such process has never been completed successfully and currently it's status is nothing more than a fairy tale

The NewFags

As stated above, this the protoform of the Users. However, many of those have never reached maturity, remaing forever in their white forms. Some of them posses a level of awareness and intelligence close but never the same as an User, while some simply stand in one place, never moving. These "NewFags", as they have been come to be called, are ostracized by society and more often than not find their home in the Deadpool, either by choice or by deportation by the Moderators.

The Caternals

The demigods of the Internet'verse, Caternals are a cat-looking race (or a single being taking several forms, the opinions are a bit sketchy on this) which hold the position of being the most attuned to the Internet'verse to the point of being one with it. Caternals are, as far as many Users are concerned, gods worshiped thorough the cosmos. The power they hold is immense, in fact it only thru them that Userkind was able to spread their civilization, thanks to the Wiskir Powah(not around I know, but it's here for the sake of consitency), the natural energy source that powers everything and comes from the Caternals. They keep mostly to themselves, being mostly cosmic beings who just happen to look like giant house cats. They don't have a ruler or government, but currently it is presumed that a Caternal known as "Grumpy"
holds the most power among it brethren.

Aaaand there you have the first part of our look into the bizarre world of Know Your Movesets! Next time, we will take a look at prominent groups and people that reside on KYM World as well as it's geography! Just so you will know where you absolutely have to visit… and which places to avoid at all cost.

'Till next time! Confirm On!

SmackerJack, let me explain something.

The attack styles would be similar in each mode, but the attacks are different.

For example:

Laser attack in tech mode would be a fireball in magic mode

Dash punch in tech mode would be blaze claw in magic mode

Melee combo in tech mode would be blaze trap combo in magic mode

I should rename magic mode "Blaze Mode"
