Love Live! Sunshine!! S1Ep10: We've got Stewshine!

So yeah, somehow we got nine members of the idol group out of the end of the last episode. The logic didn't exactly follow but I guess this isn't a argument debate. And Dia acts like she is in charge… despite trying to avoid all interactions with the idol group prior to this… And she also talks to her sister like she was her pet when Ruby does something right… I'm going to avoid thinking deep about that.

Anyways, Dia wants them to push forward to hopefully go to LoveLive this summer with a training schedule… including swimming ten kilometers. (You) and Chika try to get out of it by saying they have a beach snack bar job… but the place is pretty decrepit and next to one that has been built this decade and has futurist things like working electricity. But Dia gets to work whipping them into shape.

(You) prepares food like an absolute madman

Yohane and Mari aren't so good. Yohane makes some oozing barbecue briquettes, while Mari makes a witches brew.

Dia gets mad because all their 5 minutes of work didn't get any customers. Some do show up, but it's only because Chika called them to.

They later try to train on the beach, with Kanan leading the way. And by that I mean the (near) lifeless bodies of the others are strew across the beach behind her. They then get cleaned up after a day at the beach, but apparently showers are a luxury so they just use buckets of water outside.

For dinner they have to deal with the leftovers… and Yohane and Mari's food is all that is left. At first they apologize profusely but then summon courage to act like it's amazing
Mari's dish is actually good, however, we find out why no one bought it…

Meanwhile Yohane's dish….

(though Yohane thinks it tastes great).
Chika Overhears something about Riko having a possible piano competition soon.

They all sleep in the same room at the inn. Someof them are uh… much closer to each other than reasonable. Also Yohane sleeps in this giant shark hammock sleeping bag thing.

Yohane vore fetish confirmed
Chika does research after the rest are asleep and the piano competition is the same day as the Love Live preliminaries. She wakes up Riko and they go to talk on the beach at night. Riko says she wants to be part of the idol group more than the piano competition. She also says Chika needs to wok on those lyrics like Nari tells me I need to finish these reviews.

The next day Riko, Kanan and Chika start trying to write lyrics together, while (You) merges the dishes Yohane and Mari made into a curry. Dia also goes into a history lesson about Love Live. Mari looks especially interested.

wait

Chika also convinces them to go to bed with

She later wakes Riko up again too… break into the school at night so Riko can play the piano for her. And like all good friends, she tells her that the choices she made are dumb and she should do the piano thing and not Love Live preliminaries. Something something about finding what you enjoy.

Love Live! Sunshine!! S1Ep11: Special Training

So all the idols see Riko off to her piano thing, while the rest start special training… by cleaning the pool… yeah that makes sense. Also they aren't very good at it.

At least (You) dresses up as a kanmusu sailor, though she can't "stand" cleaning either

After they get it cleaned, but still wet, they decide it's a good place to start dance practice… for some reason. They get ready and

What stops them isn't that they realize that this is dangerous and stupid, it's that they remember that Riko isn't there. They then con (You) into actually doing the dances and not just doing… I forgot what she did but she didn't do dances before this. (You) tries it but keeps bumping into Chika during practice.

Later they relax at a shop. Yohane tries to win a prize and get the…

Meanwhile (You) and Chika keep trying in the parking lot when Riko calls to check in. Chika puts the phone on speaker and…

(You) wants to talk but the phone battery dies so she doesn't get a chance.

Later (You) walks home and… is promptly molested by Mari. Thankfully (You) does the thing I wanted to see happen to the Miss Molester in the previous series but never did.

For some reason (You) seems shocked by Mari both doing this and that she shouldn't have thrown that mother****er down like she did.

Mari talks to (You) and we start to realize that the reason she's been off lately is due to Riko, but not because shes missing practice

(You) was hoping the idol thing was going to be more with her and Chika, and doesn't want to get left behind (how much of this is Yuri vs just close friendship IDK)
Mari hears (You) out like any valued friend would

Mari (after the incident with her and Kanan) suggest actually talking with the others instead of just assuming stuff.

The next day, (You) wants to talk, but Chika shows that Riko got everyone matching scrunchy bracelets and is all excited, so she can't do it. Later that night she

IS WEARING GLASSES WHAT THE HELL Why wasn't she wearing glasses before this? Why is there not more are of glasses (You). How come idols can never be seen with glasses for long? This is what is wrong with the Love Live series ?Let?Idols?Wear?Glasses?

ahem…
anyways, (You) tries to run through different scenarios in her head of how to do this and two things. It is probably the best part of the entire Love Live series, and I think I need to take back what I said about it might not being Yuri.

Riko then happens to call (You)

(You) tries to sound happy but the words are coded in such a way that she want's Chika to be happy with Riko, though she starts to break down.

They hang up without us knowing the rest of the conversation, then Chika shows up at (You's) house at some ungodly hour to practice, and how they should readjust the dance to (You). (You) runs down to meet her and they hug it out.

This is normally the part of the review that I say they they should have ended the episode but they also put in a pointless performance in end that you should skip. However, while not the best thing in the world, in terms of songs by them (as opposed to Self Control) it is the best song so far in the series and I might just listen to it again after I finish the series under my own free will for non-shitpost reasons.

Love Live! Sunshine!! S1Ep12: It's Time To Fly

All the idols are waiting for the results of the Love Live qualifiers. And they get in.

Now their popularity is rising. yay. Now the number of new students who apply to the school, which is the whole reason for becoming idols, should be… It's zero. No one has applied to the school. yay. (You) also remarks that by this point the other idol group had already saved their school, further depressing Chika. Chika decides she want's to go to Tokyo to find out what makes he group and µ's different.

So they all agree to go and meet Riko who is already there. Riko has to hide her smutty books, but almost gets discovered. They go and meet Self Control, who then convinces them to see tournament postings, but then Riko says they should go to Otonokizaka (µ's school). They go visit, but a random girl in their uniform says µ's took eveything so there's nothing for them to see.

They also see a time ghost toddler Honoka.

Both disappear from existence before they leave.

They get back and Chika says they should all go to the ocean together… despite them all living on the coast less than a five minute walk from the ocean at all times. Chika comes the conclusion that they can't just follow µ's to be great, because µ's didn't follow anyone to become great.

Love Live! Sunshine!! S1Ep13: Sunshine!!

Episode Starts with the idols on the roof exercising. Or so we are told because they stop before we see them.

They then go on about how they can't work too much, so now we cut to a break elsewhere.

Three of the non-idols see how much work they are putting into saving the school, and wanted to help. Chika wants for them to sing with them. She tries to talk to Riko about it, but then they are interupted

She looks way too young to be Chica's mom. Also Riko might have a thing for her.

We then cut to Hanamaru the next day being sneezed on by a giant.

The Idols wait to meet the other girls to join in practice. And like 40 of them show up. Chika gets excited… but then Riko points out the rules only allows for people who already singed up as part of the idol group prior to the event to participate.

They all go to the event, and talk about how far they've come and whatnot yadda yadda yadda. When they get on stage, Chika starts by saying she want's to share with everyone "our town". Unfortunately, it is not an idol performance of Our Town but instead just her rambling about her actual town. And they also have a semi-play to show their struggles… yeah this is a bit painful to watch. Though If I could have just seen this bit to skip the last 12 episodes, that would have been nice.

And then they magically change out of their school uniforms into idol outfits to preform. Also, with all the stuff they do with the visuals in this, and the improvement to the CGI quality, this is the one time I think the CGI bits actually look a bit better than the 2-D animation. Visual wise the most interesting performance that didn't utilize teleportation magic. And Near the end Chika… literally runs off the stage and out the door… okay then.

Alright new year and new season.

Love Live! Sunshine!! S2Ep1: Next Step

Episode starts with philosophical stuff by Chika who is chasing a paper airplane. The floor below her is glass though, so it cracks and she plummets to her death.

Unfortunately, she wakes up from this dream. Shiitake is there and tries to finish the job

but she survives this fall as well, though we find out she's late for school.

Mari gives a questionable quality introduction to the new term. During this we find out the Aqours just barely missed out on nationals though Ruby, Yohane and Hanamaru talking. Mari yells at them and makes the speakers crack.

During which Hanamaru makes this face for some reason.

The Chika finally gets there and they all find out about there being another Love Live event. And everyone gets excited so the students all spell out Love Live.

With absolutely no practice they did this perfectly and color coordinated with absolutely no implication that there was any one even at a high enough level to even be able to see this to begin with.

Alrighty then, now new intro.
It's not bad. It has Riko running away from a dog (though if that's actually the intent is debatable.) Also Chika trips everyone for some reason

While there is a lot of 3D CGI, it still is much better than the first series. They also do more interesting ways of transitioning between some of shots. I might actually watch this intro as a stand alone even.

The group is stretching on the roof. Kanan helps Yohane… by sitting on her… Kanan seems to be enjoying it a little too much…

Hanamaru tries to do some push ups, but can't do even one.
Dia suggests that they should do a concert at the school's coming open house, but realize that they don't have many more days left, and with the days getting shorter they won't have as many hours to practice. They say they'll figure out somewhere else to practice so they'll have more time. Kanan notices that Mari isn't really paying much attention though.

Chika and Riko get back and stare at the ocean. Chika says something about how "now I know what it's like to shine" then runs towards to the ocean, jumping up in the air, presumably to drown herself. Riko catches her before this happens though.

Cutting to Mari on the phone with her dad and something happens. She then later meets Kanan who knows something's up, though Mari plays dumb, claiming she's gained weight. Kanan picks her up and says that it hasn't changed. Mari finally breaks down and starts crying, wondering what she'll do.

The idols reconvene the next day, wondering if they found a new place to practice. They ask Hanamaru if they can use her family's temple.

I'm going to take that as a no.

Something something Dia finds out about Mari's deal, and they find a place they can use and go there. The younger students are all happy but Kanan, Mari, and Dia are all gloomy, and finally tell them all the open house is cancelled, as the school is officially no longer seeking to recruit students for next year. Mari said that her Dad's decision on the matter was final.

Chika loses it and grabs Mari and forces her to tell her where he father is. She then runs out of the room looking to make and assassination attempt, but Riko stops her, because he's in America. Chika then says she'll ask for an advance on her allowance to be able to afford to go to America. Mari and Dia try to convince her that it really is too late.

Chika comes home while her sister is brushing their dog

Chika finds out her non-idol friends make a large number of paper cranes and a sign that wished them well going into the next Love Live event.

The next morning Mari officially announces to the school that they will be combining with another school next year.

Riko tries to tell Chika that she's glad they tried even if they didn't stop the school from closing. Chika says if she really means that, she despises her. Riko roars at her and acts a bit of a chunn which makes her smile though.

The next morning Chika runs to the school's field and roars, and says she'll make a miracle happen no matter what, and won't cry until that happens (though she's crying when she says that). All the other idols were there waiting for her in the field, too apparently, who all have the same sentiment.

Chika jumps on the handlebars to get higher to say they will make a miracle happen.

There is no heterosexual explanation for this. Additionally, there is no physics explanation for this.

and the episode ends. The end song is pretty good, but the ending animation is probably the least interesting out of all the other Love Live endings and openings to be honest. They also show Chika crying despite saying she would not cry until they made a miracle happen in this episode, foreboding I guess or Chika is just a liar.

Love Live! Sunshine!! S2Ep2: The Sound of Rain

Mari calls her dad again, and somehow weasels him into saying that they could get the school to stay open under one condition. If they can get one hundred new prospective students to sign up. Right now the number is at ten, and there are only twelve first years who are currently there, though Chika says that at least saving the school now isn't impossible.

Later they are on the roof and talk about how soon the Love Live event is. Riko starts bugging Chika about needing to write a new song for the event. Some of the other idols try looking at her notebook to see the progress she's made.

Since they aren't really getting anywhere, Mari decides to split up the work. (You), Riko, and Chika are to write a song to do at the open house, while the other six will work on a song for Love Live. (You) Rika and Chika go to Chika's house, though Riko makes a point that her dog has to be put up first. The other six go to Mari's house, and the three first years are impressed. Yohane tries to resit the macaroons because she'll be purified if she eats them. Mari forces one in her mouth killing her instantly

When they actually get to doing the song writing, Hanamaru and Yohane are on the same wavelength in doing a theme of "nothingness". However, the others all find it too bizarre for their tastes. Mari suggests a very different take with heavy guitar. However, the younger ones become paralyzed by the the power of rock. That groups calls over the other group to quell the dispute between the two smaller factions.

They decide that they need to know each other better and the third years really don't know the first years and vice versa.

Kanan decides they need to play dodgeball

After that fails, Hanamaru suggests the library, but the third years are bored. Dia decides that since they like different actives they should all hang out naked together.. wait WHAT!?!

However it doesn't result in any yuri action thing productive and it starts to rain forcing them out of the hot springs.

Hanamaru suggest they go to a nearby temple. She says the owner doesn't live here… and there are several tombstone looking stones around the temple. Does Love Live finally turn into the Supernatural horror anime it was always meant to be?

They go inside the temple where there are only candles. Already Kanan is on edge. While they rummage through Yohane's things to look at a song she started, Kanan hears a footstep that indicated the idols are not alone. It's a black cat, but she picks it up and pets this symbol of badluck. And then the candles go out.

Unfortunately by the time the candles are relight all of them are still in the temple safe and sound. However, the roof starts to leak, so they gather up cups and dishes to collect the water. The noises of the falling drops makes music play in the background. This inspires them to write a song. The ext morning they all meet up, to show they they got stuff done. Mari gets a call, though she doesn't answer it before credits start to roll.

Love Live! Sunshine!! S2Ep3: Rainbow

Mari is told that the open house needs to wait a week due to a road issue. Chika (who for some reason is on the roof.) just thinks that means there will be more time to prepare. (You) and Riko explain to her that the Love Live qualifies were going to be held the week after the original open house. This causes Chika to lose her balance. Unfortunately her sister and dog catch her.

They try to see if it is possible to do both events at once. Yohane says that she could fly them there as a fallen angel, which Hanamaru and Ruby both mock suggesting it was a serious idea, and Yohane does… whatever this is:

Chika suggests borrowing Mari's helicopter…

But Mari points out it's not really hers. Dia suggests the only realistic solution. If they perform first at the qualifiers, they can make it to the open house just in time. The order is chosen by… lottery. And we know how well School Idols are about winning lotteries. They squabble over it until somehow they decide that Yohane should be the one to pick the lottery number. And they end up… 24th, right in the middle of the event. They have to pick one or the other now, and none of them like that option to choose. Riko suggests the split, some of them going to the Love Live event, some going to the open house, but they won't do well at LL if they all aren't there. Then Chika comes up a solution… what's the solution?

Five of them show up at the Love Live finales, but then the others show up so they are all together. The music has some more traditional influences which is good. However, they decide they need to give up close ups of the cgi faces. While better than the cgi of the previous LL series, It still looks a bit creepy doing this. Anyways they finish and seem to do a good job, but then Chika, Riko, and (You) all rush outside. They didn't seem to let anyone else in on their orange plan.

Basically, there's a private monorail that is on an orange groove that happens to be owned by one of the students that starts near the LL finals and ends near the school. They run there to get on the small train. However, it starts very slow, as it's not made to hold so many people. Kanan in trying to get it to go faster, accidentally breaks a leaver before the train starts on the slope.

They don't exactly explain how they stop the train, they kinda just are on it and then show them running. Then a rainbow appears and they get to the open house and perform, despite being sweating and tired from running so much. Yay.

Love Live! Sunshine!! S2Ep4: Don't Be So Formal With Me

So they get the Love Live qualifier results, and Chika is not concerned at all about making it in, unlike everyone else. And they load the page and… they pass. Well, that was uneventful. However, now Chika has a different problem. With these two events, they are now broke.

Dia starts to notice that Kanan and Mari are starting to get closer

… to the other idols, as in there is less formalities between them. Dia acts like they need to be more formal, meanwhile Mari thinks she's just jealous.

Later Riko, (You) and Chika are sitting on a bench looking for work when Dia comes by and acts awkward. She sits right next to (You). They think about a job more but Dia says that it will take too much time from practice.

But then she remembers that doing nothing doesn't solve the problem they've had. So Dia suggests selling things at a flea market. However… she seems to have the praise go to her head… Not sure we can trust her alone with any of the younger idols save her sister. Then Chika dresses up as an orange… for some reason…

Dia seems to have her heart set on trying to get the most money out of what they're selling… to the detriment of actually making money.

Chika says something to Kanan about Dia seeming "off" so Kanan and Mari confront Dia about it. Dia makes them promise they won't laugh, whispers to them… and they break out in laughter. Basically, she want's to be called "Dia-chan" by the lowers and that's it, but is sort of jealous because Kanan and Mari are already called with "-san" by them.

They help out with an event, but Dia's attempts at trying to get more casual with the younger idols creeps them the hell out.

Kanan and Mari let the others in on what Dia wants, and they kinda get it however, the kids decide to wreak havoic on the place not long after. The one good kid reminds Dia of herself, though, so she gets them all in line. They then have a thing at the end where they all call her Dia-chan.

Love Live! Sunshine!! S2Ep5: Taking in a Dog

They all get in cars to go someplace so they don't get wet. Except Yohane, who is doing a bit. The others leave without her and the wind picks up.

We then move to Riko who is trying to get over her fear of dogs with Chika's dog. It's going… very poorly..

We then get back to them talking about their future idol stuff and yadda yadda. Though we do see Mari's fake eyes again which is nice.

Yohane seems to leave midway through to do things though.

Later Riko's mom gives Riko Yohane's phone, who got it from Yohane's mom (why Yohane's mom couldn't just give it to her is not explained so whatever). Riko goes to to give it to her. In looking for her, Riko finds a crate, and is startled to find a dog inside. Jumping back, Yohane grabs and tries to kidnap Riko..

Unfortunately, Yohane let's her go after she finds out it's Riko. Yohane feeds the little dog, and Riko comments that the dog is cute but… still wants to be nowhere near it. Yohane takes the hint and has the dog chase Riko down..

Yohane then explains that she wants to keep the dog as it's a stray, but where she lives does not allow them. So she tries to get Riko to take the dog in. Of course having her commit sudoku would be a far easier task.

Somehow Riko decides to take the dog, but only because she can use the pet carrier. She sneaks it into the house without her mom knowing. However, she slowly starts to grow attached to the dog. Yohane comes back soon, though, to tell her they are moving out of the condo they are in so she can take back the dog. They then start to fight over the dog

We also find out that Riko named the dog "nocturne" obviously after the Bionicle set..

However, as it turns out the dog is missing and Riko's mom finds the ad in the paper about the family looking for it.

The next day Kanan says something to Chika about this being her last Love Live. However, (You) interrupts to tell them Yohane and Riko are broken and in need of repair due to lack of doggo maintenance.

Yohane suggests to Riko that maybe their dog and the lost dog just happen to be 100% identical so therefore they should dognap it from the family they gave it to. They show up at the house, but Yohane's non-existent magic powers can't summon the dog…

…so she says she'll wait for the dog to come out. Riko doesn't want to wait for hours to dognap it, so she leaves her so goes to a bus stop.

However, it starts to rain and she decides to go back and join Yohane and wait for the doggo. Yohane then reveals that she's always had bad luck, and blamed it on "fallen angel spirits" even though she has since moved past the part of her life where she actually believes they really exist. But then she felt like finding the dog there was really something leading her to find it.

The little girl on the family then comes out the with the dog and then goes inside in an easy to steal place. Yohane tries to user her powers again to make the dog come to her, but it doesn't work, and then the girl brings the dog back in.

They decide the dognapping idea was dumb. Also Riko finally confront's Chika's dog and they get along.

Love Live! Sunshine!! S2Ep6: Aqours WAVE

We find out that they are up to 57 prospective students. However, that's still 43 short of where they need to be and less than a month left. The deadline is also the same day the Love Live preliminaries are. They look online to see how the teams are doing. They notice that Saint Snow seems likely to continue on, as well as themselves. Yohane says that she'll do some magic to help them win, which is normal for her. However, Riko immediately says the same thing… which is absolutely not normal for her. They also note that voting will heavily favor groups from large schools with more students.

Later that night The third years all meet up. Kanan has a notebook, which is apparently one she kept since her first year. Mari and Dia say they want to do… whatever is in the notebook, but Kanan refuses. She throws her notebook into the ocean… Only to have Mari jump in after it. Unfortunately Mari resurfaces and comes back with the notebook.

Chika calls… Saint Snow? Instead of admitting defeat and giving up like a rational person would, she talks about how they are disadvantaged as their school is the smallest. Chicka starts to ask her group the next day what makes them "them". Dia then brings up the formation that was in Kanan's notebook. Kanan still doesn't want it out though because… Mari hurt her leg. Okay, and this is problem how? Besides, how bad can it be? Do they strap fireworks to the center's feet or something? Eventually they agree to look at the formation.

Chika decides to be the center, which is the hardest position, and tries to practice it… and fails. Despite constantly seeing that she's trying this move, they never show what the issue is. She's fallen face forward, fallen forcefull seating style, and going through a door upside down. What kind of move is this to land in radically different positions when it fails?

After trying to do it for a week, Kanan asks her that if she can't do it by tomorrow, she will promise she'll stop. CUE ALL NIGHTER.I get why (You) and Riko are there, but why did all the other non-third years show up? How did they get the memo? She tries one last time… Only to fail again.

(yes this is actually what she says)
She starts crying because she doesn't want to give up and be seen as a failure. Her friends console her by… making robot noises.

They don't really explain why they did that, but it does allow for Riko and (You) to make Chika not doubt herself as much. However, somehow Dia, Kanan, and Mari track them down and it's starting to daybreak. Kanan asks Chika to do the move. Chicka runs towards Kanan and, I swear if this was another anime, this would be the part where Kanan died in an explosion. We never do see the move here. Instead, lets cut to the end song! Because why would we want to see the move that the whole episode was about when we can shove in a performance that has no context?

Well, we actually do see it and… She just does two summer-salts and crouches like a frog. That's it? At least her landing pose reminded me of the Jackie Chan Adventures version of Springheel Jack, so that's something.

Love Live! Sunshine!! S2Ep7: The Time Left

They announce the Love Live finalists. Mari remarks how only three groups will make it to the final round. Somehow, the Aquors make it into the running. I only feel sorry for the other idol groups that lost.

They make note that tens of thousands of people have watched the video. However, when they ask Mari how many more new students have signed up, she says that she thinks that her cell phone just froze up. They go back to the school to get good WiFi and… The number still has not changed. With only 4 hours left to meet the deadline, Mari calls her dad. Because of the large number of views, they were able to get a 5am extension, at which point the applications will close if they do not reach 100.

So now they are down to eight hours. Chika gets the idea to go to the front of a train station to ask more people to sign up… at 9 at night. When she's told that won't work, she wants to hold a streaming internet concert. (You) finally grabs her and says everything will be fine.

They decide to spend the night at the school to see if they get enough new people. Yohane thinks that the computer might be having issues so she tries to make it work better.

Time passes and with less than an hour let, they still need four more applicants. Some of them decide to go outside and see the rising sun, ans also yell at the mountains to proclaim how great the school is… for some reason.

They come back in, with less than 3 minutes to spare they get 98 applicants. They only need two more applicants to save th- and applications are closed before they reach it.

They go though the stages of grief and officially announce that the merger is happening. Well, they all almost go through the stages of greif. Some of them go to acceptance faster than the others, but even the net day, Chika can't get to that point, and despite all attempts to hide it, she finally breaks down some during practice the next day. This prompts the third years to ask the rest if they even really want to continue to train or even go to Love Live.

Then then show a montage of the girls after this with a magic feather going to visit all of them with a song that none of them are singing. Yeah, it doesn't really make sense to me either. Unfortunately, despite the feeling of the song, this is not the ending of the series, and all the girls decide they still want to continue. Chika, though is still open about how she really just wanted to save the school. The entire school just happened to gather outside and over heard her conversation and basically tells Chika that she can still "save" the school by having its name live on as the winner of the Love Live competition. This realization somehow missed all of them before this, and give them energy to continue. The magic feather also shows up again and flies into the sun.. for some reason.

Well, it's interesting that they lost the school (though I bet something is going to happen where the school isn't really doomed later.) Would have been more interesting if they had actually quit but I know they can't do that. We'll see what the rest does.

Love Live! Sunshine!! S2Ep8:HAKODATE

Open with the idols in the middle of a snowstorm with the signs of hypothermia starting to set in. Unfortunately it turns out that they are just in a place called Hokkaido and them over reacting to living in a fairly temperate place normally They were invited to the regional premiers as guests. Yohane promptly slips because she didn't prepare and somehow gets higher in the air during a slip from a near standstill than she was standing.

Oh wait, it seems we're missing Hanamaru and…

Turns out it's just layers… yup totally…that's exactly how clothing layering works…

When they get inside they find out Saint Snow made it and some fans that want to take pictures with them. They find Saint Snow, and the older sister remarks how the Aquors have improved greatly in skill, and that she looks forward to facing them in the final Love Live event.

The Aquors are in the audience getting ready to watch Saint Snow perform- and now it's over and showing the winners. Some 'noodle incident' happened, so now Saint Snow cannot go to the final round. We sorta find out that they fell during the performance and the shock of that happening made them unable to continue singing.

The Aquors stumble around town, thinking they should say something to Saint Snow. They come across a place that has a sign for Whale soup. They go in, but don't find anyone that greets them. Ruby does a bit of snooping and finds the younger Saint Snow sister crying inside. Jumping next to the older sister, who starts to serve them, she starts to talk about the restaurant. The younger sister, however, wants them out, and threatens Ruby if she tells anyone about her crying. She then tells her sister that she is done with trying to be an idol.

The Aquors then go to another place to get food (?didn't they just eat?) and Hanamaru does this…

The also talk about how the older Saint Snow sister won't be able to be an idol next year, so it could be a fresh start for the younger one… if she actually wanted to do it. Ruby makes a remark how she probably doesn't want to be a school idol if it's not with her sister, with Dia picking up on the fact that her younger sister said it. Ruby says that it's not like that, but also lets slip that. The younger Saint Snow sister was crying, and she runs out of the cafe in embarrassment.

Dia follows her and they have a conversation about how Dia will no longer be a school Idol after this, and their idol experience will be over soon. While Dia says she's fine with the way things have worked out, Ruby still wants things to stay the same. Ruby then decides the best course of action is for her, a young teenage girl, to walk alone after dark in a city she has almost no experience in, in below freezing temperatures to go to a place that she's only been to once by accident, which happens to the the home of someone who threaten her not 6 hours prior.

Ruby meets the younger Saint Snow sister and they go… to some random spot on the sidewalk I guess and argue over whose sister is the best. Ruby makes a remark about how The Saint Snow sister loves her sister, which causes her to blush… okay, let's not go this way any more please? They say some more stuff about how this should not be their last performance, then Ruby drags her over to a Christmas tree being lit. Rby then says they should sing a song about their sisters(?) but thankfully the episode ends before they could do it in the episode itself.

Love Live! Sunshine!! S2Ep9: Awaken the Power

Episode starts with Ruby and Saint Snow sister giving talk that is sorta normal, but would not be out of place in a yuri hentai either.

We jump to what I assume is before this with Ruby asking Yohane and Hanamaru to help her with a concert for their sisters. They both agree, though Younger Saint Snow sister (okay, she's Leah, I'm going t have to call her that from this point onwards) didn't know about them coming and doesn't like it. However they all find out they are introverts so things smooth over fairly quickly. They then kinda invite themselves over to Leah's place. But they also don't let any of the other aqorus over. The Rest of the Aqorus take a flight back home. Dai gets a bit worried about her sister, and Kanan and Mari don't help her fears by suggesting the others will join Saint Snow.

Chika thinks she has it figured out, however won't tell Dia.

Back with Leah, she gets in an argument with Ruby over who has the better sister. This surprises Yohane and Hanamau, who have never seen her act aggressively about anything. Leah's sister comes in but Yohane settles it with having a normal conversation.

Instead of just doing it in front of their sisters, they really want to give a real concert, so they go in front of this broad that could approve them doing a real concert. Ruby remembering all the times Dia helped her is able to gain motivation to get through the selection presentation. Later they are all talking about something but Yohane makes a comment about how Hanamaru is always eating. Yohane remakes how Hanamaru should watch her weight, but then has he cheek turn into flubber when it is touched.

Ruby sends a message to Mari to tell Dia to come back and "get them" so she does. She meets up with the older Saint Snow Sister on the way to where she was told to meet them. Ruby and Leah explain how they wanted to do a concert, and turns out the other Aqorus also showed up because Mari paid for them to go.

Anyways, they start by… standing in the middle of the street… Then leads to trees exploding in lights and AN AROURA BORIALIS!?! Okay but whatever, this should be a nice surprise for the sisters… who are now in idol outfits and singing with them… I'm so confused. I thought being an idol required tns of practice doing something before performing it, but I guess they can just jump in an sing a song they never heard before and dance in rhythm despite knowing nothing about it without any issues. And now they're all singing and dancing.

Sorry for lack of images, Internet is being extremely slow so I can't really search how I would like to. Will hopefully update when I get back with good internet.

Love Live! Sunshine!! S2Ep10: Finding a Way to Shine

It's New Years and Chika Gets ready… by writing sloppily and getting ink on her face. Also begging her mom for money. However, the other idols show up before she gets anything from her.

Aqorus all show up, and bring Saint Snow with them as well. However, the soon figure out they aren't really able to practice in kimonos. They have also all bee slugs during the holiday so Saint Snow gives them marching orders to train. Mari also gets a call that her dad now wants her to become the director of the new merged school, though she turned the offer down and instead will go to Italy to study pasta college.

She then later talks about the other third years and reminisces about all the time they had together, and finds out they are all going to be moving far away after highschool. She then steals a bus and kidnaps all the other idols and they all get high AF and drive into space.

Or not, they don't really make this thing clear. So they go to the top of the mountain to look for a shooting star. Except it's raining. So they use their weather controlling superpowers to make the night sky clear and which for them all to reunite one day.

Love Live! Sunshine!! S2Ep11: Uranohoshi Girls' High School

The school is holding a "School Closing festival" and the idols are excited for it. Finally some realistic teenager behavior is being shown. The idols are all doing their part. Ruby is working on an outfit, Mari is hitting people with her "approved" stamp.

Yohane and Hanamau are busy creating a round summoning pentagram

Walrus doing whatever they want in the school

A ghost hiding in the closet. You know, normal stuff that you do to prepare for a festival. Unfortunately, the ghost didn't try to kill anyone and was really just Chika's dog in a sheet… who happens to damage parts of the festival meaning effort will be needed to repair it. They all stay late to make sure every gets done.

Next day, somehow Umi is here?!?!?!?!?

Riko and Chika wear special outfits, but Riko seems embarrassed about the source material for hers.

Chika goes and checks on the others.

Yohane is doing a fortune telling, but no one is really interested.

Some of the other girls also prepare a massive CGI multiple balloon structure to top off the celebration. They also are able to make it fall apart Thanos style just a few seconds later. Like, that had to take several hours to animate put together, you would think they would want it to last longer than THIRTY SECONDS.

We then cut to the end of the celebration and… A lot of the girls start pairing off and holding hands.

Ultimately though they all start holding hands for the orgy and begin dancing around the set bonfire like the pagan worshipers they are. Mari then says thanks to everyone but blames herself for the school closing, thinking if only she had done a little bit more. This gets her a standing ovation-because the students are glad she's taking the blame- because she did all she could.
