Looks good enough to me, do you have any issues?

Not specifically, but it's always saver to ask. Plus English is still my second language so you never know if my sentence building is passable hahaha.

Hey, RM. Someone wants me to give you the archive link of the Honey Badger thing.

They said the link doesn't mean anything without the archive.

I generally avoid archived links if the pages themselves still hold the necessary info you need to get from it. All mods and staff do that. It would be quite the pain to create entries otherwise hahaha.

I don't mind replacing the link, but I need something more than "doesn't mean anything", sorry.

FYI I searched the comments page on deefreeze and these are all I dug up that could be used: http://blogjob.com/oneangrygamer/2015/05/weekly-recap-deepfreeze-puts-game-journalism-corruption-on-blast/

Sorry, I can try to clarify for them.

Links can go down anytime, either via the person deleting it, websites failing or changing their URL system, DDoSs temporarily shutting the site down, domain theft, accounts being suspended, etc. etc.

Basically anything involving link rot or similar.

This has become a serious issue in the American Legal system.

1. Unknown, but it's back, presumably because /v/ backed up everything.

2. TechRaptor published a Column by Allistair Pinsof (Neutral) Archive, Jonathan Holmes (Anti) Archive, I don't know of any Pro articles yet.

3. There's the Wiki, the Current Happenings List, and there's Jenn's big old Harassment List, but that's been out of date for months. I don't know what kind of database you want, but I remember those.

Okay I'll see if I can get a draft on the Database thing and then run it through RamdomMan, I might not be able to do so these next few days.

Okay, the header draft is almost done, but there is one thing I want to know: Are there any Anti-GG databases (Besides Wikipedia and other wikis)? and specifically, those that are the reverse of Jennofhardwire's list? (Randi's got to get that info form somewhere besides hashtag feeds)

Okay did anyone mention the blocklist lawsuit recently, I want to do some research on the lawsuit and anything else that the blockbot header should be updated with for the article.

Matthew Hopkins is handling that.

K I added a sentitece or 2 about that to my draft (after the quote), but I want to know if there is other things about the blockbot or other Anti-GG databases the article needs to be updated with

What other things are you thinking about?

Pretty much anything that is deemed important regarding the database or stuff that the article missed

Generaal wrote:

My suggestion for the next edit is to include #GamesSoWhite in there.

Meh, nothing to say about it except "SJW's made hashtag to whiteshame vidya, gamergate hijacked it".
We can't put EVERY hashtag in the entry. It didn't have so much impact and didn't even last a week. It's even less notable then #pizzagate and i was surprised already that that made the entry.

@superjumpman

Should probably just put a "list of hashtags created by/hijacked by GamerGate" appendix in there and put in all the hashtags that aren't important enough for their own articles.

Ok so I added a new subsection to the background header on the GG entry. It pretty much summarizes the whole “sexism in gaming culture” narrative. I didn't know this thread existed, so if I do anymore things of the such I'll post here first and then try to get some feedback from the rest of ya'll.

The article needs to be updated with the results of the Society of Professional Journalists AirPlay debate.

It was interrupted by bomb threats, it was in the news.

Polygon.

GamePolitics.

Reason.

UPI.

That is why the SPJ is now preparing to make their own game journalism awards.

Is there progress on that or is it still mostly proposal and speculation?

Did anyone add the GamerGate subject about Zoe Quinn and Anita Sarkeesian going to the UN to promote internet censorship aka Cyberviolence Against Women? And there's another one about American McGee's sister missing and his clue so far is death threats from a anti-GamerGate person.

We don't know if the threats are connected to McGee's sister disappearing, although that guy is the most obvious first step in any police investigation.

As for the UN stuff, no one did.

Look, I apologize if I come across as rude, but why in the world is this still a active movement? I thought that all of the main goals that gamergate was going for in the beginning we're done months ago?

This thread is for the entry and any possible updates. Any questions regarding Gamergate as a movement and its objectives should be asked here.

should we put something about these current events on the page entry? it seems to be directly related and the french article directly use gamergate as example

The first article is more related to the Overwatch and DOOM review entries. As for the second article, it's just an article about France promoting "women-friendly" videogames. Its only mention about gamergate is about that supposed harassment of Anita Sarkeesian (for the millionth time). Tons of similar articles can be found on the web, nothing special.

Can be a nice topic for the guys in the forums but it's not entry-worthy material.

Here's the GamerGate episode of The Internet Ruined My Life on SyFy in case you want to update the entry.

I love that they're using Deagle Nation content as examples of "death threats".
If anyone wants a laugh, here's a recording of the interview parkourdude91 did with a wanna-be journalist.

@synfel

Shufflegate has already an entry on its own, so it's not necessary to put it in the gamergate entry.

@Gaben

The syfy thing can be put at the "brianna wu doxxing" part. If there are no objections, i'll add it.

Request from yours truly. Has anyone a proper resume about the SPJ airplay debate? It's been almost a year and still it isn't added to the entry.

So this hashtag #ZachAttack has been trending a lot. It has to do with GamerGate supporter Best Mom Eva, aka mombot who gather a dox crew to trap the doxxer that's doxxing Best Mom Eva. Turns out to be Palle Hoffstein the creative director at Ubisoft Blue Byte.

A long uncensored interview of Best Mom Eva was posted, explaining the whole story uncensored.

I recommend to add the interview to the quinnspiracy entry instead to save space on the gg-entry.

#zachattack looks big enough to get a mention, i'll add it if there are no objections.

Starting now, i'll add the airplay debate to the entry. Remember that i'm always open for info about it. seems like i'm the only active editor left who isn't a mod here

Also, i request to remove pizzagate as it never had an impact. It was mostly a trending hashtag that made fun of miss Wu. There were TONS of similiar hashtags like that so i don't see any reason why it belongs to the entry.

a question should we put the case of Mercy Covington on the entry? just asking because its important even when news media didnt cover it

This one might get added, i'll look into it after that whole no fap september thing is over.

This is going to be one wild ride.

Encyclopedia Dramatica already made the Skype Con Leak entry with all the leaked chat logs. Breitbart will upload a article about it as soon as possible so keep an eye on that. And there's two separate hashtags exposing the leaks. #CONLeak and #CONLeaks.
