Oh, no… He's going to figure out that I don't know anything about most forms of science… I need a distraction…
Knark Knark challenge:
Ah, Ratboy Genius… What a fantastic example of artistic creativity… The animation's a little iffy, true, but look past what the art is, and look through to what the art means.
Just look at his outfit- reminiscent of Bart Simpson, thus giving the viewer a small sense of either nostalgia or some form of primal comfort, and his hat, a literal hat? Or a symbol for not letting the outside world into your mind?
Watching through Ratboy's Kingdom, I'm in awe of the music. Really… It's perfect in every sense of the word. His text to voice singing complements the bouncing piano, and the drums are always tight… As a musician, I really do have immense respect for the composer.
I'm unsure about what Ratboy symbolizes himself, though it's plain to see that the Big Green Monster represents his inner fears, and that Summer Solstice Baby is his love, incarnate… Yes, even counting these semi-clichéd archetypes, the series has a plot that even the youngest of children could follow, and a storyline that would touch even the oldest heart. I don't want to spoiler anyone, here, but in chapter 12 he made Summer Solstice Baby 3D… I… I teared up, guys… Not since Hanako's story in Katawa Shoujo have I been so poignantly touched…
Some people become confused watching Ratboy's Kingdom… I'm not sure how that's possible… It has a solid, consistent story filled to the brim with plot twists and character development.
The thing that truly takes my breath away is the background contrast… Seeing Ratboy wander the streets is amazing. I dare you to find anything that comes even remotely close to having backgrounds as perfect as RG's.
I could spend all night describing Ratboy Genius, but the best thing you can do is just watch it for yourself. In closing, I just want to say… Beauty, you have a name, and that name is
Ratboy Genius.
