I like how these people are not actually reporting wrongly uploaded images. It's like a police officer telling you to fix your broken taillight ironically for no fucking reason otherwise you'll get an ironic fine the next time, and then simply refusing to fix it and calling the police officer an abuser of authority.

Lurk, many people still use that gallery, locking it would screw them over. Not to mention those who enjoy looking through it.

Randomman, I actually did report one, but it seemed like nothing happened. I'd do more and actually report stuff, but it seems like everyone's intent on rigging it to close the gallery either way.
It's not really encouraging them to do anything when they're just mocked, ignored and sometimes suspended.

So what if it's not their job? Doesn't really relate to anything I said. Yes there's other galleries but they're about other things.

Yeah, it's in Riff-Raff when seems to be why my topic about this was dismissed, doesn't change how you're still "counting down" and threatening to lock the gallery. I mostly came back because of this "sudden death" nonsense, it sounds more like a sincere threat than a joke. Plus this really isn't something good to joke about, nor is there anything to get from joking about it.
A better way to encourage cleaning up would be a more positive threat encouraging and organizing it, rather than threatening with things "ironically" that you seem determined to push through regardless of what happens or any objections. I'd start such a thread and participate but I don't really know if there's any point with this going on. Hard to be motivated when it seems like it won't make a difference. :/

So basically:

One could say the same about screwing with people's "fun" by closing the Tumblr gallery.
And really, it's sick to get pleasure from the misery of real people, better to find a different way to have fun.
Not to mention that for the reasons I mentioned it's really discouraging of actual efforts to fix it up, as I mentioned I was considering helping out but why bother if it's just going to be ignored and the gallery locked no matter what I do? No if this thread were shut and we were assured that it WOULD work and the gallery WOULDN'T be locked, I could get on that with impunity!

if jokes about memesite gallery locks cause someone misery (which is defined as "great mental or emotional distress; extreme unhappiness." a feeling usually reserved to the working poor and others who live in exceedingly stressful circumstances) then THEY are the sick ones.

Rules

  • Tumblr comment section has 10 chances
  • Every comment that isn't about Tumblr will count as a strike.
  • Every comment that makes the unrelated comment aware of this nulifies the strike.
  • Every comment that then gets deleted by the commenter after being pointed out will nulify another strike.
  • Every comment that gets deleted without someone pointing it out beforehand will only reset the initial strike.
  • If the comment is still up after a day without a reply pointing out its fault, the strike can no longer be reset.
  • If there is a comment reply pointing out the faults, it gets an extra 24 hours.
  • Once 10 strikes have been accumulated, it will be locked forever.

The sudden death issue was due to the Admins frontpagging a Twitter image that was uploaded to the Tumblr gallery because someone on tumblr reblogged it. FYI if it happens again, it will lead to another sudden death and the gallery will auto-locked without question.

Of course, if you want to petition the Admins to stop frontpagging Tumblr images (especially seeing as they are usually reposts and are just stupid posts having nothing to do with memes) you could help prevent this from happening.

Of course, I did make a promise.

However, I found a solution. Instead of tallying up his score, I'm just gonna suspend him every time he decides to be annoying.

Okay so I actually have sorta a life which is why even though I've moved images, I've not posted here to say I've done things.

Really though, instead of more of this sudden death stuff, if the rules were changed that any images that were not reported, no matter how long ago they were uploaded, would count negative if not reported, it would work better. I moved over 160 old images out of the Tumblr gallery last week, so if it as at 100, we would already be -60 at this point.

Anywho, I guess I'll keep pretending this thread is doing something, here's some more recent ones that I have not really gotten to posting here:
