On December 11th, 2024, Redditor u/KriprikUser made a post to /r/badtwosentencehorrors^[5] reading, "'Good Kitty,' I say as I pet my cat. 'no, I'm evil Kitty,' said my cat," garnering over 180 upvotes in three weeks.

On December 12th, 2024, TikToker^[1] @offlainnnn posted a new video in his "scariest stories" series in which he begins by telling a bad two sentence horror story about an evil kitty, garnering over 2.2 million views in two weeks. The story goes: "'Oh that's a good kitty,' I say as I pet on kitty. 'No, I'm evil kitty,' said evil kitty."

The video's original sound became the subject of memes that month, garnering over 48,000 uses in two weeks. The most popular videos set the audio to footage of cats misbehaving. For example, on December 22nd, 2024, TikToker^[2] @spearbpz posted a video set to the audio that begins with the user petting their cat, followed by footage of the cat getting angry at another cat, garnering over 12.5 million views in four days.

On December 24th, TIkToker^[3] @supfi posted a video to the sound showing their cat having tipped over their litter box and defecating on the floor, garnering over 14 million views in two days.

$EvilKitty Meme Coin

On December 26th, 2024, the $EvilKitty coin, based on the meme, was launched on pump.fun.^[4] Within roughly an hour, the coin reached a market cap of $205,890.
