Some video footage of the fire
This honestly breaks my heart, as someone who's watched a lot of KyoAni's projects. My heart goes to the families and friends of those that have died.

Heartbreaking indeed, and its specially sad since is one of the few anime studios that actually put effort and give a shit when they're working on a adaptation, but at least the authorities capture the culprit already.
May the victims have a fast recovery and no collateral effects from this.

I just realized, two of the first anime I watched that got me into binge-watching the medium in the first place were Haruhi Suzumiya and Lucky Star… KyoAni got me into anime, and that makes this even more heartbreaking…
And as an update on this situation, as I should correct what I said on the hyperlinked text: only one person died, and multiple are still injured
I assume that Kyoto Animation has many buildings.
Was that the animation studio building that got burned down?
[EDIT] Seems it was.
33 dead, 36 injured, and 3 missing.
Suspect was a 41 year old man who felt that he was being ripped off by the studio.
