Can anyone tell me how it is recieved and given?

You see those two buttons? Press the plus sign to give positive karma, press the minus sign to give negative karma.

basically, having a lot of good karma means you're awesome, and if you have a bunch of negative karma it means people hate you.

When someone gets their post voted down until it is -5 or less, their post becomes hidden.

When their post gets vote up, nothing happens at all.

Welcome to trying to get fake internet points.

Basically, it does nothing except have people tell their opinion of your posts.

If you get +3000 karma, your internet penis get a little bit bigger.
