Add a CAPTCHA before posting comments/forum posts to prevent spam

Seriously, these spambots are getting out of hand. There are several posts and entries here where you could see at least 2 spambots posting malicious links. I once saw a post containing 6 spam comments in a row. Is it possible to implement this suggestion?

Maybe KYM could have some kind of probational period for new accounts to limit their ability to post.

Or would that be too much?

Yeah, I think that's too much.

I don't want this site to have a similar system like reddit, where new accounts have to earn enough karma or contact a mod to post in certain subreddits. I feel this would be too prohibitive to newcomers to the site since any important information they may hold at the time may not be of use anymore when enough time has passed and their probation period is over.

Sites like Funnyjunk have a reCAPTCHA every time someone makes a post, and it seems to be doing fine for them there, so why not adapt the same system here?

But we already have CAPTCHAs to make accounts, if they can get past those then what's going to stop them if we just put another one to make a post?

Another example of bots bypassing CAPTCHAs is /b/ and it’s porn bots spamming “visit X site to see naked women Snapchat accounts”. So CAPTCHAs can be bypassed to advertise and spam shady “businesses”. Maybe that whole account limiting idea can be used for accounts that are a couple days old and prevent links being posted onto your account as well as forum posts.

Yeah, I think limiting new accounts would be better than CAPTCHAs or completely preventing new accounts from doing anything. Maybe just subjecting them to limitations on what they can comments (urls, images, forum posts, etc.) for a couple months or so until we're sure they're not an ad-bot/porn-spammer.

The only thing I could imagine going wrong would be the Staff programming it wrong and accidentally applying it to old accounts too or something like that. Besides that, it seems like a fantastic idea to me.
