Here's my guess: the "collection" will be limited but come some time next year they'll just put all three games on the eShop separately as the "35th Anniversary Edition"s for like $20 or $25 each, and to coincide with this they'll also put Galaxy 2 on the eShop. Yeah it's weird it's not included right away but I get the feeling they're saving it for something else and a "sell each game separately on the eShop after the anniversary celebration" situation sounds likely to me.

Still I went full FOMO and nabbed a pre-order while I was on my lunch break at work, I got a little more than I expected on the last paycheck and can afford to get one game right now.

EDIT: Oh yeah some thoughts on the other stuff. That Mario Kart AR toy actually looks really cool and I wish that was a thing when I was a kid, would make for a great Christmas present. Also cool to see Mario All-Stars from the SNES is being put on the SNES app, I'm actually more familiar with that release than the NES originals.

I'll admit, aside from 3D All Star's short shelf life and there being no mention of Galaxy 2, even in the montage which included portable Mario games, I really liked this direct. It's been about 18 years since Sunshine was released, and I'm glad it's being remastered along with 64 and Galaxy.
First of all Super Mario Bros on the Game & Watch sounds awesome. I'm kind of curious what the this game & watch's specs are and how they compare with old consoles. I expect the details to be known rather quickly, though how much we'll learn about this remains to be seen. Obviously it would be very advanced for game & watch standards.
Bringing 3D World to the switch had me excited. Though I own 3D World on the Wii U, I've never actually completed it, so that should be fun, especially when I do multiplayer.
The "Bowser's Fury" teaser was something. I'm not sure what to make of it yet, but I suspect it will be showing the events of the game from Bowser's (or the fairies') perspective, specifically what he does when the SMB2 squad (Subspace Spelunkers? The Great Dream Team of The Mushroom Kingdom and Cosmos? idk what do you think would be a good name?). Whether or not Bowser would be playable in the expansion, I'd like to know.

You know I thought only physical copies of 3D All Stars will be limited. I hope this experiment fails and this doesn't happen ever again. Then again if I could afford new Switch games I'd probably buy it without hesitation.
Augmented Reality Cart is a really clever toy in theory, but people will end up looking at the screen all the time to avoid virtual banana peels. Then grandma will walk into the room, trip over the funny Mario car and break all of her bones.
Also I don't get why Mario 35 isn't a part of the regular All Star Bundle. After March it will probably be turned into Mario 99 and have price tag slapped on it, but It would be a neat incentive to buy games that were available on almost every console since All Star GBA.

So looking at Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury. The file size is actually 5.0 GB. Which is bigger than the original’s 1.7 GB. I’m guessing it has something to do with Bowser’s Fury which seems to be a new campaign. Maybe said campaign is possibly as long or even longer than 3D World itself, though that would be pushing it a bit.

Putting aside the whole "limited release" thing because that's a shitty business tactic that I dislike and giving a game an actual genuine expiration date, I think this was an alright way to celebrate a franchise's 35th anniversary in These Unprecedented Times™. Probably not going to get the collection, might pick up 3D World if Bowser's Fury allows us to play as Bowser at some point, probably could go for trying Mario 35.

The fact that 3D All Stars costs $60 along with the limited release on even digital copies is pretty scummy. The collection should not cost more than $40 (in hindsight, the Megaman, Sega Genesis, and Castlevania collections are better deals; the Steam release of the Genesis collection even has hack support).
