What is a video game that you would say is your comfort game?
I guess I'll start…
My comfort games is the Picross games on Nintendo Switch and a lot of the Arcade Archives games on Nintendo Switch as well.

Ditto on Picross; I even have one called Picture Cross on my phone for quick Picross sessions when I'm idle.
I also wanna say Animal Crossing, but whenever I start playing it I usually drop it again shortly after--it really is a game that you'd want commitment in, so it's moreso a comfort game in the sense of "I like thinking about this game"
Edit: Oh, I just thought of another one: Earth Defense Force; a comfy, explosion-filled ragdoll fest topped with a sweet layer of campy theatrics courtesy of the writers and voice actors.
My comfort fallback in recent years has mainly been classic shooters like Doom, Quake, and Duke Nukem 3D, stuff where there's little to no story it's just "shoot the bad guys, find keys, finish level."

Same here with games like Timesplitters 2 and Timesplitters: Future Perfect.
I'll boot up Minesweeper on google or a Sudoku puzzle on my phone for a comfort game. Logic puzzles refocus me and help me clear my head.
Recently it's been breath of the wild. Nothing like running around, exploring and doing minor quests.
I suppose I don't really have one. If I'm not playing a new release or finishing up my backlog, I'll typically play an online pvp game in the meantime.
Banjo-Kazooie comes to mind. It doesn't matter how many times I play it or even finish it to completion, Stop N Swop eggs included: any moment I hop into it, I always have a good time.
City builders are my go to games when I want to really chill out and not stress about things. I like FPS, grand-strategy games and I like LoL a lot, but they can be really frustrating.
Guild Wars 2….not sure why though
Beat 'em Up / Hack 'n Slash games where there's not a lot of story going on and you just wreck a whole bunch of enemies. Streets of Rage 4's Survival Mode is perfect for this.
The second Attack on Titan licensed game. The battle for Utgard castle gave me an adrenaline rush the first time I played it and I find myself wanting to chase the memory every now and then.
It's soundtrack is way better than it has any right to be.
Mine used to be Minecraft, now i play Potioncraft
I like playing and replaying the Felix the Cat nes game. An easy platformer that is juuust hard enough to keep me engaged, and has nice music. There's also Mario Kart DS of course, Pokemon Pinball R&S, and Game & Watch gallery 4, but only the mini-games I'm better at like Donkey Kong junior (modern version) and Chef (modern version)
Cookie Clicker
Halo CE and Halo 2. Gen IV Pokémon games are also on the table, especially Pearl which was my first one.
Metroid Prime is really damn good one, when it comes to comfort games, mainly for nostalgia. I've beaten that game so many times, that I pretty much know the location of almost all of the items, even that one dickish missile expansion, in Chozo Ruins. It's a fantastic game, through and through, and probably the best game, on the Gamecube, and now the Switch. May Retro Studios be eternally blessed.
A Hat in Time is also a good time –ignoring death wish.– It's just such a feel good game, with pretty visuals, loveable characters, and the fact that you can be an asshole, and get away with it, is just the icing on the cake. Plus, the generally easy gameplay certainly helps with it (though not completely brain dead.)
Also, Hat Kid is the most precious character ever, and must protected at all costs, even if it means exterminatus-ing the fucking planet.
Also, I'll back Mistress Fortune on Arena Shooters/ classic FPSs. They're simple and easy to jump into, for the most part, but have enough variety, to keep me interested, and concerns of a story are a distant second. If it breaths, kill it. That's all you need.
The Simpsons Tapped Out
It's pretty delightful building my own Springfield & I'd actually like to live there
